Hi everyone! I'm hoping someone can help me. I had my hip arthrogram this week, and the dr told me that I would probably get a significant amount of pain relief after the procedure and to keep a mental note about how long the relief lasted. But I felt NO pain relief and honestly I think it was almost MORE sore than before they did the procedure. Does anyone know what this means? Does that mean I do NOT have a hip problem, and the problem is somewhere else? Or does this just mean i probably don't have a labaral tear? Any ideas???

The first question I have is did they also inject a steroid? That is the only way you would get relief.
I had a few arthrograms also looking for a labral tear. My doc was surprised that they did not use a steroid.
I had 2 steroid injections in my hip, then 2 arthrograms.
First injection, not a problem, I got some relief.
Months later, second steroid injection, hurt like h....ll, no relief, I could not even walk very well for about the first hour, I hung around the hospital. No relief.
Arthrogram # 1 , again hurt like he.. The doc put too much fluid in before he got to the right spot, could not take the pics
Back for #2 a few days later, different doc, hurt like he.., correct spot!!!

The results showed mild arthritis, no tear, joint effusion.
I then had arthroscopic surgery which showed severe arthritis. Then it was replaced.

Good Luck
When do you get the results?

Judy

Well, you got me beat! Unless of course, as Judy says, they left some steriod behind afterwards! Really couldn't say.
