The nurse called back to ask questions, then called again after she had spoken with the surgeon. My pain reliever has been changed (from Vicodin) to 50 mg. of Tramadol. Had two about an hour and a half ago, and it seems to be helping. She said orders from doctor were to slow way down and to do nothing for a couple days....no walking, no exercises.
The physical therapist came out today. I relayed the instructions from the doctor's office. He tried to reach the doctor or nurse, but had no luck. So, he just did really, really simply ankle mobility stuff--told me to stop the second there was any pain - that pain meant i was going backward. My ROM had gone down to 70; i think it was 82 last Tuesday. He assured me this happens fairly frequently when folks try to do too much to soon, and i will be back on track very soon. He is a very gentle type of guy.
I was just feeling so good those first few days. It didn't seem like I was doing too much at the time. For the next few days or weeks or months, i am slowing waaaaay down.
