@tiredwife good idea, I am taking my I Pad as my hospital have secure free wifi so hopefully I will be lucid and can update Trying to think of a good title for the recovery side any ideas
@madinana You might want to keep the same name but add 'new' to the beginning, that way you will be able to be found easily. Or something encluding madinana. You will be fine to type a few hours after waking up, but you might fall asleep midsentence. We will understand if it doesn't make much sense!
After reading some of your posts I am feeling a little bit better. I know that I have a lot of work to do before and after. Is there anything that will make it easier at home for me? My wonderful husband will be at my side through it all.
@Roxnshells it all depends on you and your insurance According to my hospital the supplys I got would not be covered So I bought from amazon My walker with front wheels ( I had one that could borrow but had no wheels) I bought a toilet riser as the one I am using in the master bathroom is low. I also bought a wedge for the elevating. I also bought on amazon which was pricey but got two ice packs that wrap the front and back as from my reading some people were saying needed back of knee iced too. The health store wanted ridicioulous prices. My os wanted two knees done. Went to my OS and he said my other knee is bad too and in 3 month if feeling up to it, get the other one done. I have my daughter in law and grand kids here for two weeks to help but after that am on my own until hubby gets home from work. I am not the type of person to wait until last minute. I hope this helps and you will have a sucessful TKR
@Roxnshells I left a long list of hints on your thread, and if you read through madinana's thread you will find about every hint I know and those of other people too. It is very good your husband will be with you, hope he can cook? Oh, if you go to my thread (page 4 I believe) you will find out about nurse bait - a great way to get extra attention at the hospital! Best of luck to you!
@Roxnshells You might want to buy some easy to prepare meals or pre make and freeze some. You won't be up to doing cooking for a week or two or maybe even more. Each person heals at their own rate. You won't be hungry but force yourself to eat - your body needs fuel to heal.
@tiredwife@madinana
Interested in the nurse bait for next week when in hospital.
Tired wife you mentioned looking at your thread on page 4, to find out about nurse bait. I'm not too technical how to do find this thread ? Thanks.
@marmora top of the page is a long white box marked search type in 'thank you' a box should pop up, type in under 'posted by member' type in 'tiredwife' and hit search. It should come up with my thread, then go to page 4.
@madinana my husband and I both have our own laptops. Keeps us from fighting over it. Glad you have your I pad, would have had to send out a search party if I didn't hear from you!
@madinana How cute! Let me know if it works as good for you as it did for my hubby. We had to point it out to the nurses at first, and house keeping, and the people bringing his food. Amazing how upbeat they were when they came in the room, and how often they came in the room.
