I just got this in an email - thought you all might enjoy it

Julie Andrews Turns 69 - to commemorate her birthday , she made a special appearance at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP.

One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favorite Things' from the legendary movie 'Sound Of Music'. Here are the lyrics she used:

(Sing It!)

Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts ,and hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak,
When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache,
When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.

(Ms. Andrews received a standing ovation from the crowd that lasted over four minutes and repeated encores.)

Oh fantastic!!

I smiled all the time I was singing, good job hubby is still away!!

Will copy and send that one on to a lot of people!!

Here's my contribution for the day....

If it were not for the fact pointed out above, public school teachers could not read any of their students' work. Trust me on that one. Good stuff there Patti, betcha heard that before too.

Loved the Juiie Andrews' song! thanks. Nice way to start the day.

And Patti - I could read every word. Scary thing is, I think that's how my mind works - sometimes it feels pretty jumbled up!

I'm right there with you Susie. I coould read the 'jumble' as fast as I can read anything else. Kinda makes ya wonder what else may be 'jumbled', huh.

the reading thing was quite easy for me too, ahh guess we are all crazed on this site!
I loved the Julie Andrews song. Just loved it. I am sending it to my mother in law....she loves Julie Andrews and is 86, I think she may really relate or get mad....she thinks she is 46 most of the time, ha ha.

I can relate - I am 66(and a ½!!) and usually feel like 40 at the most. That's why I was not a little gutted when the hospital forced me to 'retire' (again!) at 65! I had plans to continue till I was 70 at least!

Why would they make you retire, are they nuts? There are too few fantastic, considerate nurses left in this world. They should employ you just to teach nursing the old fashioned way, then patients would never fear hospitals again!!

Please don't retire from this Forum!!!!!!! We need you!!!!!!!!!!!!

This isn't a "funny", but it's VERY interesting:

Easter this year is: Sunday March 23

Remember this date!!!

As you may know;

Easter is always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon after the Spring Equinox (which is March 20).

This "dating of Easter" is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify Passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.

Here are a couple of things you might be interested in!

Based on the above, Easter can actually only be one (1) day earlier - March 22, but that is pretty rare.

This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives!

And only the most elderly of our population (95 years old or above!) have ever seen it this early.

None of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier!

Here are the facts:

The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 - 220 years from this year!!

The last time it was this early was 1913 so, if you're 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around for that!.

The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year 2285 - 277 years from this year.

The last time it was on March 22 was 1818.

So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this year!
