Peggy you are in my prayers. Before my revision the doc did not want me to do anything strenuous, including house cleaning...wish that one would be permanent. No bicycle or walking on uneven surfaces. I was told the knee was so loose it could shatter my femur and he'd have nothing to work with. I had surgery within 45 days of being told I needed revision. I used that time to explore the different types of revision knees in the industry. My new knee is a Wright Pivotal Knee. My flexion is 136 and extension 0 so I am very pleased. I am sure there are other knees just as good. PT was the real key. I just Love the KinCom machine...say it enough and you will believe yourself. Laugh often, it helps.

Your excellent ROM is nothing to do with the prosthesis, bmac. All to do with your surgeon's surgical expertise. Any other prosthesis he was skilled in using would have achieved exactly the same results in his hands.

Hi bmac, If you dont mind if i ask you some questions. When did you get your replacement and how long did it last before you found out it was loose? How did you find out it was loose? and how much more pain where you in after it was fix? I am just tired of being in pain, but i know one day the pain will go away. until later

Loving this pain,NOT!!! I think i need to buy 2 more ice packs i have the gel type ones,I have been putting them on the front and back of the knee but at night i only put 1 on,now i dont know why the pain is getting greater it might be the weather as its been raining here for 4 days and tomorrow they say no rain but more rain until saturday.I am missing that 85 degree weather we had last week. Today i when to the pet store and when i got back into the car and started to drive i got a charlie horse in the back of my bad knee down to the foot, didnt know what to do, i did put my hand under the back of my leg and put presser on it and was so glad i didnt have a far drive. Now i have the soreness that goes with it.Does anyone know what to do for a charlie horse? Thanks

I had 4 of those gel packs (the big ones) and kept 2 frozen at all times. This was especially critical at night when I'd need to replace them at some point each night.

I was never a fan of ice before my surgery, but now I'm a true convert. I tended to swell a LOT and it was what made me most comfortable night and day.

I cant wait for the 18 to get here it still seens like a long time to come, yesturday the charlie horse and the soreness that comes with it,last night i woke up with pins and needles from my knee down to my foot.I have been iceing ,useing the tens machine and taking 5 pain pills a day,and the pain is getting me up at lease 2 times a night even with a sleeping pill in me.Does this looseing cause this must pain, and is there something else i can do to ease it? Thanks for listening

I forgot to add that now my hip is starting to hurt on the same leg (my mind is getting slow its that lack of sleep)
