I just got back from the OS office. My check-up went great! I first went into x-ray and had a x-ray taken of both knees in a straight forward position with my knees bent touching the x-ray machine, then I stood up straight up and had x-rays taken of both knees, then I had my left knee x-rayed in the bent position with my foot raised off the floor on a stool, they then did the right knee the same way.
My OS checked my flexion and said I was getting all there was out of the implants (Johnson & Johnson Dupey Rotating Platform Complete Knee System).
He told me the x-rays looked great.
He told me I can do whatever I want to now.
When I asked about the noise my knees make, he put his hand on my knees and I stood up, and sat back down. He told me the noise was scar tissue that had grown into the groove where the patella rolls. He said it will make noise forever and not to worry about it. It does not hurt, it is just noisy on both knees. He said it was strange that it took 10 months to appear.
He also said for me to take my profalctic antibiotic before any dental treatments. (I did not even ask about it, as it was his final comment.) So, I will be in the better safe than sorry group of patients regarding dental infections possibly causing infections to occur in the replacement joint!
Anyway, it was a good overall visit and I go back in 2 years for more x-rays.
