We are home. I have a catheter for urinary retention, and excruciating groin pain and spasms. Got bejhind on meds this evening, hope to catch up soon.
More later I am exhausted.

I hope with meds on board and some sleep overnight you're feeling a bit better this morning. :fingersx:
@Pumpkin

Thinking about you. Sending hugs for some relief soon.

:console2:

Glad you're home :flwrysmile: I hope the pain has eased off now! It's tough at first but as you know... It will soon be a distant memory!

Glad you’re home. You know what to do, so that helps. You should have that pain under control soon. Ice and meds. And, of course lots of naps.

Glad to hear you are home. :) Remember to take meds according to the clock and not pain level - I'm bad at leaving the next lots of meds until I'm in a lot if pain and it’s much better to keep on top of it.
I had a lots of spasms as well and something that helped me was to gently massage the area with magnesium spray (obviously not over the incision area or anywhere with open wound). And maybe not if you have never used it before.

@Pumpkin It is good to hear you are home! I'm a bit surprised the hospital sent you home with a catheter. And wonder if the groin pain and spasms might be related to that in addition to having just had major surgery. Do you have a nurse coming to visit you at home or someone to monitor the catheter?

I hope you are feeling better today! :prayer::ice::console2:

Well compared to my hip my knee revision was a cake walk.
@djklaugh, They felt I would be better off at home, just to get some sleep,10 hrs last nite vs 2 in the hosptal.
I have stat appointment on Tuesday see a urologist, and get the catheter out. They will also look into my urinary retention, which looking back I have has for at least the last year.
I did start peeing in the hospital, but it was not enough to send me home. The caterer bag was at 2 liters this morning.
@IndigoKnee , Thank for the tip about magnesium spray.

We are bringing in Comfort Keepers for a couple of weeks to help me around the house, and my husband with caregiving..

Wrote the surgeon about increasing my Norco to 10/325 as needed.

Surgeon increased the Norco and prescribed some muscle relaxers, hopefully that will help. Going to be careful with the muscle relaxers, that they do not relax me too much.
With the pain meds on board it is easier to get up, still painful, but managable.

I hope you've had a comfortable night :loveshwr:. Sending hugs and healing wishes x

Good Morning!
I hope you were able to get some restorative rest overnight and today is a good day! :SUNsmile:
@Pumpkin

Spasms seem to have dissipated :fingersx:. Mobility is a little better, I actually walked to the stairs and back earlier today and was up more often. Poop fairy arrived today, much to my relief.
Sadly our neighbor's husband who was in Hospice passed away Thursday night. Wish I could go over for a visit, for now we text daily.
She has a son, two grandchildren and two grand dogs in the area. The dogs have been visiting overnice, which I know is a great comfort for her.
Hopefully tomorrow the small improvements.

Great! Some positive progress for you today!
Sorry about the loss of your neighbor. Hopefully you can visit with his wife soon.
@Pumpkin

Great to hear you’re doing so well, @Pumpkin! But so sorry about your neighbor. Hopefully you’ll be up to a personal visit fairly soon.

:roseshwr:It was some time before I received relief from the poop fairy... Glad you have that one off the list! Sounds like you are making little steps forward. Hopefully by the end of the week you'll be getting around much better.

Good to read about your progress and sorry to hear about your neighbour.

Yesterday was a rough day. :yikes:. Today was better, our caregiver started, I was able to walk a little more, showered, sheets changed and water resistant mattress protector put on mattress. Hopefully the catheter will be removed tomorrow, and I did not want to take any chance of ruining my new mattress.

Having a caregiver was a big help and a relief for my husband, she will be here all week. Since his heart attack last year, he cannot do everything he could, just helping with my leg was a strain on him.
He loves to cook, so he is keeping me well fed.

That's about it for today,
