Grinding in tkr knee

Hi
I am 9 weeks post-op, & I have noticed the last week or so a grinding when I move my knee. Is this normal? I did twist it last week chasing my granddaughter. It was sore a couple of days but now it ok. The grinding is not painful just iritating.

Could well be part of the usual noises from artificial joints. Try watching the video in Noise Related to Total Hip Replacement. I know it's principally aimed at hips but it works for knees as well.

hi chuck like you I get strange noises and clunks in my tkr even now at 4 months post op......my physio said its just because the muscles and surrounding tissues need time to tighten up and heal properly each day seems better than the last keep up with the physio exercises

Hi Chuck / Pat
After my Apr 08 LTKR, I noticed the occasional clicking in my knee several months out. As time progressed, the clicking stopped (about 8 months out). I also feel more stable on that leg and attribute it to improved muscle development. Hang in there, it does get better.

Cheers Ross , like Chuck I too was worried that I had some damage until I spoke with my physio.......You have just confirmed things for me too...
