My Dr. is doing both knees at the same time!!! There was a misunderstanding. He scheduled me for one knee because he didn't understand I wanted BOTH done. I guess when he said tkr...I got freaked out and he wasn't too sure I could handle both at the same time but after talking to him for at least 45 minutes...explaining everything...he's glad to do both. Thank-you so much for the input all of you gave me. It was so helpful. 51 more days until the surgery!!!:D

Cindy,
You sound so excited and happy that you make smile as I read your post. I am glad to hear that you and your OS talked and got eve3rything strightened out. Here I set tring to firgure out when 51 days is. LOL I know it must be July. To lazy to get up and look.
You must post and tell me everything that is going on in your head at this time.

Hello, If you can handle it, from what I have seen on here people are happy they did both at the same time. Get it over with. It will be hard, but if you give it everything you have, it will work out fine. Look around on here a few people have had them done and are doing well and moving right along. Members on here are fantastic. We are here for you anytime. Good luck , Post anytime...

Good news and happy for you Cindy.

Cindy,
You will be happy with your decision to do them both at the same time, because you will be re-habbing them evenly. Make sure you do the upper body exercises pre-op! Get everything ready before you go into the hospital and know you will do well. With most BTKR the OS like to send you to a rehab hospital. The normal stay is between 5-11 days. Mine was 6 days. I came home able to walk unassisted in the house, used crutches outside on uneven ground and in public. Just be prepared to be exhausted post op. Going thru it once is great rather than having to take the time to do it again....
Congratulations!

I am sooo pleased for you, Cindy. Such a relief when you find things work out okay.

Oh, Cindy, what WONDERFUL news!!! So glad that you can get this taken care of all at once. That little bit of assertiveness almost always works!!! Way to go, gal!!!

Great news, Cindy!!! That means you'll feel doubly good! :)
