Finally got all of my results today. My AIC went from 10.3 on Jan 8 to 5.5 today. Had a fasting of 93 compared to 253 in Jan. 2014

- Have dropped 39 lbs
- Lowered cholesterol from 213 to 144
- Trigly. from 149 to 97
- LDL from 149 to 83
- Raised HDL from 40 to 46 (could be better)

Have bilateral knee surgery scheduled for Tuesday and there was some doubt initially whether they would do it or not. It's a go...they didn't think I could do it that fast. Even my blood pressure dropped to what they call a teenagers. All is good!

awesome and good work on your part. I will give you the post op reading list now---you might have some time to read it. You are doing so great---good work.

First are the mantras ....
- rest, elevate, ice and take your pain meds by the clock
- if it hurts, don't do it and don't allow anyone - especially a physiotherapist - to do it to you
- if your leg swells more or gets stiffer in the 24 hours after doing it, don't do it again
- if you won't die if it's not done, don't do it
- never stand when you can sit, never sit when you can lie down, never stay awake when you can go to sleep!

Next is a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) thread.

Thanks @skigirl I have already read that several times. Scheduled my surgery in Jan and then got my diabetes diagnosos. Was good in one sense thogh, I lost weight which will be good for my recovery. OS very happy about that.

It is always smart to take good care of yourself---but so many people cannot seem to take that step. I admire you for your hard work.

Congratulations sleenie so glad everything is ok and the surgery is a go on Tuesday!! Won't be long just a couple days to go for both of us.

From a BTKR alumnus to one who is about to be, I will teach you the "Secret Handshake!":snork:

Seriously---you will look back, after your recovery, and be very thankful that you had the BTKR!
