Josephine would you advise me please, what do you think about glucosamine is it worth taking i would appreciate any input on this.
Regards Pam

Having taken it myself, I'm all in favour! But it's even better if you ensure it has chondrocytin in it as well as that's the stuff that improves the condition of the cartilage (so I believe!) It doesn't work for everyone and though it did seem to work for me, it also gave me the trots! So I was forced to stop taking it - boo hoo!

I'm the same as gloucesterman so didn't try it but I believe that anything conservative that might help is worth trying.....

It did nothing for my hip pain, but I know some people swear by it for knee pain and ankle pain... Monica

I just read the results of a couple of new studies last week on glucosamine and chondroitin for knee OA. The results were mixed, but not very positive. My rheumatologist says it helps 50% of those who take it, but takes several weeks to show results. I have been taking it for several years--- just in case it is helping me. I'd hate to stop taking it, feel worse, then have to wait for weeks for it to start helping again!

Of all the options--- it seems pretty benign and worth continuing....

I never took it, you have to have some cartlidge to start with. LOL BUT I have a dear friend who has sworn by it for years and so I would say give it a try. Can't hurt and might help. Good luck. Rowdy

I know people who swear by it. Never worked for me, except for the same side effect as Jo. We all react differently to different drugs, Might be wirth a try, won't hurt you, unless you have allergies to ingrediants of course!!
