Gale -7 weeks post op. I have a knee cap!

Hey guess what?!! I really do still have a knee cap in here under all this swelling! I finally can see it when I bend my knee! I guess I stayed off my feet enough these last few days while at my in-laws that the swelling went down some more (or perhaps it's just a timing coincidence, but either way, the wondering is gone haha.) I can see it and feel it now. Silly I know, but being a bit heavy (fat) anyway, and all that extra swelling, I couldn't really see/feel it. And now I can't stop playing with my knee cap! (good thing I dind't get a boob job huh?!!) :hehe:

Oh my, talk about overdoing it. I went to a holiday bazaar Fri-Sat as a vendor (I make/sell scented candles). I did no heavy lifting, my 15 year old son came with me and helped me all weekend. I was on my feet from 9-5 each day, and I'm one big swollen blob of a knee now. I do about 6-8 of these type shows each year and the last one I did was in September, pre TKR. I came home nearly in tears from the pain I was in. Happy to report this time that although I'm swollen and achy, the new knee has already made a difference in what I can hope to expect from having this done. This was my last event of the year, wont have another one till May now, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how well that one turns out!

I remember in week 3 thinking I had made the biggest mistake of my whole life having this knee done, and now I can really see how in a few more months, or even weeks, I'll be 10 times happier I did this than I am even now!

With that said, I'm off to ice and elevate! (will do that most of tomorrow too!)

Gale I know what you mean when you say you love playing with your knee cap. My PT showed me how to relax my knees really really good and you can tap on them. So I do this a lot because I get a kick out of it. It sounds loud sometimes. I was doing this the other day watching a movie with some friends and they looked around and said what in the world is that noise? Oh I'm sorry....it's just me tapping on both of my knees caps....LOL

Ha! I'm in such a habit of massaging my scar and playing with my knee cap that at a meeting the other day one of the board members asked if I was flirting with myself haha!
