    Has anyone been prescribed Gabapentin for nerve pain? My surgery is Monday, 16th, and had my pre-op
    With my surgeon today. Along with the pain med prescriptions there was also a script for Gabapentin. What is anyone's experience needing this drug?

    @beewee
    Since you haven't had your surgery yet, I have moved your post (and thread) to the Knee Replacement Pre-Op Area.

    People who have had their surgeries still come back here, to offer advice.

    Some people do experience nerve pain and they find the Gabapentin is helpful. Not everyone needs to take it, though.
    @Josephine will be able to give you more information.

    I was given one the morning of my surgery and after discharge I was given a script for it that lasted about a month. I truly believe it helped me not get some of the nerve pains or spasms that others have mentioned on BoneSmart

    I was prescribed Gabapentin after the surgery. It really has helped with nerve pain. Sometimes nothing hurts, but I would get something that I can only describe as a “zinger” or a mild electric shock. Very uncomfortable and annoying specially at night when trying to get some rest. The others are correct, it is not a pain killer.
