Hi @Curiousnva,

Did you ever get sensation back below your foot?

I went through an ACL surgery and Lateral Meniscus Repair in my left knee about a week ago from today. Since the nerve block wore off (approx. 24 hrs. post op), I have been able to move my feet and toes but have no sensation on the bottom of my left foot. Toes movement is also not as fluid as my right foot.

At this point, I am very scared that I will never get this sensation back.

Was wondering how you have been recovering and if you have seen progress in getting rid of the numbness under your foot?

Thank you.

@GloomPreac Don't worry about the numbness too much. Mine has all but gone away. The only time I notice it is getting ready for bed when at the end of a busy day some of my leg muscles have tightened and become painful. I then give my muscles a deep massage and this makes my foot a bit numb on the bottom. As it is numb in different parts depending on which muscle I massage I presume it is caused by the nerves which are attached to different muscles. I can even make my other foot a bit numb too by massaging that one very deeply. As I really only notice it when barefoot and on carpet, I have really stopped worrying about it.

Thank you for your reply! Good to know you have at least gain some of the sensation back in the foot if not all.

How long did it take before you started getting sensation back under your foot? Also, how long ago was your surgery from today?

@GloomPreac Hi, my dates are underneath my signature, but in case you can't see them, that leg will be four years in November. I did have complications and had it immobiled for almost two weeks, which set me back. I suppose it was after the first 4/5 months, but then I had problems when my other knee was done the following year. From then it has just been gradual progress, with a few setbacks on the way.
If you don't notice with shoes on I would worry about it. You may even not notice it has gone. My knee used too click loudly, I got so used to it I didn't notice when it went.
