Re: my surgery is monday 10/5/09

Hi Vickie, congratulations! Sounds like you have done great. I can't wait to hear more when you are up to it. How is your pain? Are you getting around without too much difficulty?
Take care and let us know more!

Kimberly

vboaze, I moved your post to its own thread in the recovery forum. It is better suited here and, as its own thread, will be more easily seen by other members.

Congratulations on your excellent recovery so far. What you mention is one good reason to have both knees done at the same time, if they are both bad....just one recovery!

Vicki...so glad to hear from you! Glad you are getting along now! How has the recovery been for you pain wise? Keep in touch! Take care!

Wow - you're great! Well done you.

Vicki-
I don't get on much anymore but I just wanted to let you know that it will keep getting better! I went to the gym this morning, straightened up my house and watered the plants, and then spent 1 1/2 hours in the garden. I'm tired but NOT in any pain.
We are having a beautiful Indian Summer day in New Hampshire and it was truly wonderful to be able to enjoy being outdoors. Wish you the best!
Blessings,
Irene

Vicki,
So good to hear from you!! I am glad that recovery seems to be going well for you. Post when you can Please.

H Viki I thought i posted somewhere ooops maybe on the wrong thread oh well.........lol........glad you doing well and able to post both at once my hero.......lol...........keep us posted............keep up the good work and take care........)

most of the pain is gone, some discomfort
but not as much as i was in b4 my surgery
i am in outpatient pt, that makes me tired.
i go to my doc the 25th, he is to release me to drive and go back to work.
i work at a desk so i dont stand all day
again, i am soooooooooo glad i got them both done, and now over with.

i am 7 weeks post op from my bilateral knees
no pain, some discomfort, espically after PT, i work really hard there.
i am on a cane. hope to lose that soon.
i go to my doc wed the 25, he is to release me to drive and go back to work.
some tighteness in my knees.
ok, ready for this.
PT measured me this week again
the bend in my left knee is 105 degrees
right knee is 115 degree !!!
woohoo
my leg being straight measure well also.
my left leg measured minus 5
my right leg measure minus 1
so my right knee is healing a little faster than the left. which is great for when i start driving again.
hugs,
vicki :whis:

Great report, Vicki!!! I know you are pleased as punch and eager to get back to driving again! Keep up the good work!

Excellent - keep up the good work!

Way to go Vicki! I am so proud of you!!!!!! Keep it up!!!!!

Hi, vicki,
I had my surgery about the same time as you, now I am able to do most things for myself, I get tired and sore after PT. I take tylenol extra strength for pain relief. Most of my discomfort is at night but even that is getting better. I still have some swelling, the left is worse than the right. You can see my journey at broken link removed: https://www.christinesnewknees.blogspot.com . Good luck with your recovery,

Christine
