Ok, so after MONTHS of waiting (8 to be exact), fighting with workers comp (I won't get into all the ridiculous details, but supposedly it was approved in 1/09, but proper paperwork never sent out....), etc.....my scope has been scheduled for 9/11/09. I could have picked sooner date, but well my husband has Red Sox tickets (box seats). No, just kidding...well, that part is true and that is one of the dates I could have chosen, but it wouldn't have worked work-wise. Besides, I have waited this long, what's a little bit longer, right.

During the surgery, my doctor hopes to be able to clean things up a bit, but the real goal of it is to really see what it looks like in there. Afterwards he will decide if I need a partial for total replacement--soon or down the road. I am keeping my fingers crossed for partial, down the road, but will be ok with either answer. Of course, I say that now on a day when it's not hurting too bad.

I am just so glad that I can finally get some answers.

I'm sure I'll be around again, especially as I get more nervous about the surgery!

Hey Mj, Im so happy you are finally getting it done....paper work i thought thats what computers were for right ??? kiding...lol...Ii hope it all works out for you. You will be in my prayers. I hope you get the answers you need.. Please keep us posted and good Luck yo you.....:)

You must be very patient. I had a scope in Dec. My doc cleaned out a ton of scar tissue, removed my synovium which was very inflammed and did microfracture on the cartilage defect in the patella groove.
He said the rest of my knee is great. It really surprised me that the rest was great. I had pain with every step up or down before. Now I do not have that pain only rarely with a step.

I hope you get some great results. And good news. At least you will know what you are facing. I was sure I needed a knee, but I don't!!

mj5, so glad to hear this is finally working out well for you. Do keep us posted on how things are going.

Thanks everyone!

Judy--I remember reading about your journey. So glad to hear you are doing so much better! Patient, me, not so much....I have been calling EVERYONE and faxing them to follow up my phone calls--I think they just got sick of hearing from me! LOL!! My next step was to see who else I could get involved (ie: attorney general, senators--anyone!), but luckily I didn't have to.

I am very excited that we now have a laptop (one of the benefits of waiting so long! LOL!) so between that and digital cable I will have plenty of entertainment while I am recovering!

I want to thank everyone again for all of your support from before when I was posting my frustrations and in advance as I start going down this road again....

I've had a lot of medical frustration in my life and I know what you had to go through. I was lucky to find a doctor to help me . I actually volunteer at his WEd eve. clinic now as I am so grateful to him for his help. (it is all endocrine issues)
I am waiting to get a date for some spine surgery so we will be in recovery mode together!!

Gosh, if the NHS made anyone wait that long, they'd get fined for breaking the government guidelines!

I wish someone could be fined or something....the problem is dealing with the workers comp system....my insurance company approved it immediately. WC dropped the ball in a BIG way. Apparently, the surgery was approved in January, but no one sent out the paperwork. In the meantime, my case was transferred to "special funds" which basically meant starting ALL over. I seriously think that everyone got sick of hearing from me, but whatever....it's approved!

I did, if you read another surgery by me. My Dr apparently left something in my knee !!!! I have an atty as everyone advised...but I did call the attorney gen and thats the only one that called me back...Well atlest you got it approved...I know you wonder if we were like that at our jobs we would be fired in a heartbeat ...right !!!!!! Good Luck to ya!!!!!!!!!!!
