Hey all,
RTHR coming up July 14th. I am going in the mornung to have IVC filter put in. Have decided to go ahead and get the filter because I will not recieve Lovenox until after the surgery. My surgeon does not want to start Lovenox too soon because of the bleeding risk. The filter will give me some peace of mind concerning blood clots. It will be removed at around 60 days.

Josephine...I have decided to have epidural instead of general. Originally I thought I could not do the epidural because I would be started on Lovenox prior to surgery and there would be a risk of hematoma. I'm glad I can have the epidural.

well wishes to all,
Ron

Ron. Good luck on Tuesday. I hope you let us know how you are doing after the surgery. We are all hear for you if you need anything...Take care and best wishes for a speedy recovery........See ya on the other said...

It's not all that common but it does happen. If you tell the anaesthetist when he/she visits you pre-op, they will give you some anti-emetics in the anaesthetic cocktail and again as you are waking up which should help alleviate the problem. God willing, it should be better next time.
