I'm 9 weeks post-op and my only complaint is the dull ache that is with me 24/7. My ROM is great, my activity level is getting better and better, I'm driving everywhere, PT twice a week is going well, I sleep well at night, except for some tossing and turning because my knee stiffens up. I'm still taking 1 mobic a day and an ultram 50 mg in the am and 1 again in the pm. Even taking 1/2 a vicodin am and pm (which I took to get me through the Thanksgiving week-end) the pain is less but then I do more and I'm back to the dull ache again. PT says by 3 months the dull ache will begin to subside. Would love some imput... Sandy

You're under-medicating yourself and over doing it! You need to get a better balance of pain management and rest. 9 weeks is still very, very early in your journey and you should be listening to your body more.

I suggest you try taking a 1 Vicodin every night to make sure of a better night's sleep and see if that makes any difference. If that doesn't work, try taking Mobic and ultram each morning and evening as well. And rest more - you need to be kinder to yourself at this stage. You still have a LOT of healing to do and are barely half way though it. It's not going to happen over night!
