This cadd pump reminds me of those tamagotchi toys or one of those computerized dolls that they give teens in health class to scare them away from parenthood.
It likes to wake me at 2am to feed it a new battery or complain that im tugging on the tube too hard.
The other day i was in line at a drug store and it threw a hissyfit, just like a spoiled child.

I had a good day today. I was at the hospital for another appointment. Told the nurse that i was overdue to have my picc removed. She went and found my ID doc and brought him to me. He was very happy to see me and had the nurse remove it.
Ive got 6 months of oral antibiotics ahead, still pretty hard on the system, but should not be near as agressive as the iv.

Congratulations on finishing the IV antibiotics. You’ll be able to sleep at night without the pump waking you up.

Sending you prayers! :prayer::console2:
I am also very impressed with your nerves of steel through all of this.
I enjoyed hearing about your new shaving hobby. It is nice to slow down when we might not otherwise choose to.
I started collecting US coins once I knew I was on my way to joint replacement. It's been so enjoyable to look at them with my magnifying glass, look forward to a new one coming in the mail.. A nice fairly cheap hobby and exercise in slowing down sure is a salve for the soul!
Here's wishing you a swift recovery. Thank you for sharing your story with us!

Today's feeling pretty good. Getting the PICC out feels like a similar milestone compared having the staples removed. Physio went well, bend is 0-124° , upped the weights on the leg presses. Hit 6 km on the stationary bike in 10 minutes and 1000 steps on the glyder in 10 min.

I was all set to take the dog out for a walk, but I think its probably enough for today.
Maybe some ice and tylenol, and my Son can do the pooper scooper duty

Followup appointment today. Still lots of inflammation. Had xrays taken of my prosthesis. The wide spacing indicates a large plastic spacer that was needed because they had to trim back bone over two replacements.
The dark line around the bottom implant indicates the weakened glue that was used.
A loosening joint would look similar.

I had a pretty busy week so far.
2 physio sessions
2 blood tests
1 appointment with my Infectious disease doc.
1 appointment with the internal specialist.

One of the blood tests was a bit more involved than I anticipated. They gave me a dose of potassium, followed by 2 litres of saline IV fluid before drawing the sample.
It took nearly 4 hours to complete.

Im being tested for a hormonal imbalance that could be causing some of my problems.

I've begun to briefly forget my cane around the house, and I'm taking alot less pain meds.

It's been 8 weeks since surgery.
Ive been getting more excercise trying to build my stamina back.
Each revision is taking longer to heal, but i guess that's just the nature of it.
At this point in my initial tkr and first revision I was able to balance on one leg on the new knee side and was walking without a cane.
My PT figures I 'll need two more weeks to get there.
Ive still got a fair amount of swelling. Its strange when my jeans don't fit because they are too tight at the knee and too loose at the waist.

The too-loose waist sounds really good. The too-tight knee will improve over time.

Two more weeks to get where? This recovery takes an average of a year and we each heal at a different timeframe and there is no set timeframe. Your knee has been through a lot and you are coming along well. Try to hang in there.

Jockette is right. Nobody's knee is on a certain time frame but its own. It will heal on its schedule and no one else's.

Since this is my third time doing the same PT program, i've gotten to know what to expect.
Right now my ROM and flexibility is very good, so the focus is on building strength, especially in my quads. My body had to relearn how to use them.
It was very cool to watch and feel as my brain searched for and found the right connections to make it work.

I have progressed from 0 to 3lbs lifts on the leg arc chair and I'm pressing 6kg now, short of the 12kg that I was at this point the last time.
On the second knee, the swelling lasted 14 months, so i feel that im going to have a fat knee for some time.

Be careful with the weights. Your knee is still very young and you don't want to cause any damage.

We went out in my shop yesterday and did a bit of mechanical work. This morning, we have our feet up to recover a bit.
