hi,
can not seem to win, I have been put on ciprofloxin 250 2 x aday and I want to know if I can still take my pain medicine hydroco/apap 350 together with out any problems of the pills interacting in a bad way. cannot find info on web forgot to remind pharamist I was still on my pain pills:sct:

cipro is an antibiotic right? Did you look on the net. It will let you know. But I doubt an antibiotic would have a problem with a pain pill. But jo or Jamie can let you know.

I have taken cipro (if that is what you are taking antibotic) with
pain meds before.

I take cipro now for an UTI and I take the hrydo. Its ok, got the ok from the pharm. Im still on the Cipro and do hydro every now and then its fine,...you can even look it up google drug checker and it will show you but really I take the same med. Not all the time with the hydro just last couple days. ..good luck

Trish, I didn't see any problem when I went out and looked at the drug safety sheet for Cipro. Didn't you get a sheet like that from the pharmacist with the new prescription? They are supposed to give you a data sheet every time you have a new prescription filled.

You can call your pharmacist first thing tomorrow and double check, though.

You can take them both together - you'll be fine.

thank you all , My brother is very upset because of me taking ciprofloxan says , it is a bad drug, but apparently I have a bad uti infection and sinus infection that keflex didnt help I pray the medicine cures these and does nothing to my tendons as I have read about.

Uh Oh, Trish why, I take that now for a UT infections. I know you shouldnt go out in the sun...etc but what des he know...Do tell!!!!!!!Ill be honest it didnt get rid of mine im on my second round of it. But I cant take Sulfa and it think thats the one that gets rid of it the best...But Cipro might work for you. I sure hope so...but tell me anyway ...lol

Trish, you are going to be fine taking Cipro. I don't know what you've been reading, but the side effects listed (by law) on any documentation that comes with a drug occur in VERY, VERY few cases. If you've been looking on the internet, you must remember to take information you find there in its proper perspective - who published it, why, and what backs up the data.

Unless your brother is a doctor or pharmacist, I would question where he gets his information too. This is a well-tested and excellent antibiotic.

Hi, this is the site my brother told me to go to
broken link removed: https://www.antibiotic-tendon-injury-settlement.com there are several sites that has people claiming all kinds of illnesses they got from this drug. BUT if you read any of the side effects, all drugs could be dangerous to someone. FDA is suppose to be suing the doctors for prescribing it my brother was telling me tonite as I was getting my lecture for taking ciprofloxin 250 mg. He has dizzy spells from it, which mine does have a red tag on bottle may cause dizziness . I cannot take sulfua drugs so like I told my brother I need to get rid of this uti I have, and if I felt strange at all taking it I would stop. I did read on web md I think that 3 days should clear a uti infection. I know my brother is concerned with my hip replacement I shouldnt temp fate with tendon problems which is most of the complaints with this medicine.
If you want to read about the ciprofloxin lawsuits there is several communities set up with differant individual stories just google it . I read several and I believe they were on higher doses for a long time and being treated for other things, you know like someone said the web is full of stories and you dont know how truthful they are and I really hope my family doctor wouldnt prescribe a medicine that would hurt me.
Although he did prescribe a sulfa drug and thankfully my pharmist caught the mistake and called and had my medicine changed. what mg of ciprofloxin are you on or do you take and how many a day?

I have taken that drug for several years. It is very strong but it is very effective.

I am so allergic to most meds and have really bad reactions.

Just before my TKP had a UTI and took 3 days of Cipro at a high dose.

I have never had a problem. Kim has been taking it for a while and no problem.

Trish, I wouldn't put a lot of stock in the web site you posted. It's what I meant by knowing who puts information out there. This is a law firm that is "internet shopping" for potential clients for lawsuits. You are much better off reading about medications at sites like WebMD or one from a major medical facility like the Mayo Clinic. Just smile and nod at your brother and go ahead and finish the course of antibiotics your doctor gave you. You need to trust him.

Be sure you DO take the whole course of antibiotics, though. Lots of people stop taking them once they start feeling better and that is NOT good. The bacteria can come back. I think they are usually prescribed for 10 or 14 days...but do as your doctor advised.

And I hope this does the trick for you. It's a good drug.

Yikes! Trish! No wonder you're going nuts! Stop worrying and start taking your Cipro! Then you'll start feeling better! It was widely prescribed after 9/11 btw here in NY!!!!

Trish
I hope you are taking the antibiotic and feeling better. Any drug has a list of side effects a mile long. I was a person that never even took an aspirin or tylenol and now am on a long list of daily meds. It's ok. If I even thought about all the side effects I'd be a nut case.
feel better
judy

Thank you, I am taking all my prescription and I do feel better, Thank YOU JESUS! I agree all medicines has all kinds of you may get this or have this and I have been so scared since my hip replacement because of my uti and sinus infection and not being able to take sulfa drugs , afraid of doing something to hip or taking something I shouldnt I appreciate your smarts and kindness on this ., thanks again
