Dew! We're all a family and worry and/or cheer each other on! And we're all anxious to hear how you are doing! DO keep us posted!!! :)

I would like to thank everyone for their replies. It's heartwarming to know there are so many caring people on this forum.

To bring up to date: I did see my doctor this morning and was VERY happy to hear I only had edema. I am getting a build up of fluids in my leg and it found a weal spot at the bottom of the scar to start draining.

I was given a prescription to help get rid of the excess fluids and a blood draw to check kidney function.

Thanks again everyone for your encouragement and replies.

PS to my earlier post. I was really concerned about the drainage because las week I had a prostat biopsy and the week before that the removal of a cataract from one eye. The other eye will be the 22nd.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!!

Well, that is good news, Dewey! I am truly relieved to hear that. Though I doubt the cataract would have been a risk factor and I believe the biopsy wouldn't have been either. Keep in touch.

Dew, I am so so happy for you really, wow that is such great news....So it will be cleared up soon, and you can move on again. It is great to here someone that far out though having no problems (this lil blip, but) is doing so well..........It gives us that are coming up, hope. Thanks so much for that. ...I hope you feel better soon.......

:thmb: Great glad to hear. You take care of yourself and always go to the doctor when in doubt find out!

Keep posting and let us know. Good luck.

What a difference a day makes, Dew! So happy you have the peace of mind! Take good care of yourself!!! :)

Dew,
Glad you got in quickly to see the OS. With it draining clear, that was a good sign. Never know what our bodies are going to do! I wish you well with your second cataract surgery. How wonderful to be able to see things again. Enjoy the colors and fragrances of the summer months!
Keep posting.....
Best,

Good news, Dewey. I'm happy for you that it was nothing more serious than that. Always best to have it checked out and it sounds like the meds will take care of the fluid buildup. Whew!!!!

Even scratches are cause for conern...my PCP put me on antibiotics last year for one...the last thing anyone wants is an infection to decide to visit their knee...my OS make you call if you even think it might be a possibility...and then it's off the Chicago..

Boy, Orion.....there are a LOT of different opinions on the matter. Your doctors are the first I've heard of that do antibiotics for a "scratch." I'm not sure where they are getting that....none of the information I've seen warns about superficial skin wounds.

Please don't let yourself get too worried about infections. They are rare.....and the longer out from your surgery, the risk becomes even less.

I sure am glad I came across this forum. Everyone is caring and nice.

I might mention that my Brother-in-law was about two or three years post TKR when he started getting little pimples he thought was flea bites from their dog.

My sister assured him the dog did not have fleas, and he should see the doctor. He refused until he became so sick his internal organs began to fail. He checked into the hospital on a Friday and was dead on Sunday.

If anyone begins getting those little bumps, especially near the scar, they should check with their PC or OS right away. It's better to possibly waste your doctor's time than to possibly waste your life!

I love you all!!!!!
