just wondering if anyone had a different feel to both of knees after being replaced?

when I had my left knee replaced, I had so much problems with it...old scar tissues from previous arthoscopies and painful flexion/extension after TKR.

however, my right knee is considered a 'virgin' knee, never been touched surgically, and I have a 110° ROM in that knee.

my question is...will my right knee, soon to be replaced next month, feel any different from my left?

would appreciate some input!

Loribee...cannot answer that question. It is a great question. Someone said they actually had better flexion in one leg than the other (second leg better than first)--wonder if it is a change in technique or technology

Sure hope the next one feels better. The first has been a doozy! It feels okay at times and other times feels so mechanical. Sorry, not much help.

Feel as in post-op - pain, PT and so on? Probably not.

Feel as in long term, what you are aware of and activity kind if thing? No two knees are the same! They might, they might not!

Hi Lori I hope this one goes better. Maybe because you havent had anything done it will better. Your right no previous scar tissue..Good luck . I hope thats the case with this knee.

Hi Lori

I've had two TKRs, six months apart. Both knees had had previous surgeries - meniscus tears, cartilage removal and arthroscopies, so lots of scars on both.

The second TKR has been much easier than the first. It's possibly because the one that was done first was more out of alignment than the second, or it maybe just because I knew what to expect and have been much more relaxed about the whole procedure.

The main thing is to make sure you take the pain meds as otherwise you will have pain and swelling and you won't be able to do the exercises to get your movement back.

I hope that gives you a bit of confidence! Keep posting.

You'll find out soon enough and have to tell US!!!
