TKR Dental implant before knee replacement?

My orthopedic surgeon said I only have to wait six weeks after my dental implant to have knee replacement surgery. However, I've read that it is best to wait one year between procedures. I appreciate any input, thank you!

@JenKneefer Both my dentist and my surgeon suggested 6 weeks between procedures. I'm not sure where you are getting the one year timeline. It sounds a bit unrealistic to me.

My surgeon wanted me to wait 3 months after surgery for dental work. I think, like many things, there is a range of opinions!

Yes, it varies. First RTKR my surgeon made me get a clearance from my dentist that there were no abscesses pending and that my teeth were in good shape. He explained that a serious dental infection could find its way to a fresh TKR. I was also told not go to dentist for three month after.
My second LTKR the same surgeon requested nothing. I'll err on caution and see dentist in the spring.... ....

Hi, My OS said I could do any oral sx I needed prior to my hip, but had to wait at least 3 months afterward ( includes cleanings). Theory is that we get intraoperative antibiotics and I had post op antibiotics at the hospital.
Will be taking one dose antibiotics prior to all dentals now.
