Hello to All here, just wanted to get a little update out to you all. I am feeling good with the new metal prosthetic in my left hip, after 10 days in the hospital it was good to come home last week(10 days is an Italian thing). I have been doing my exercises that the physical therapists at the hospital gave me multiple times a day. We are still awaiting our schedule for appointments at the Rehab. center, I am anxious to get started with different muscle building as I know I need it. We did hire a private physical therapist who came to the house a couple days ago and showed me some new exercises to add and she said that I was doing very well for only being after surgery two weeks.
Now each day I do my exercises at least twice or more, trying not to overdue it. I am walking with the crutches still and trying to bear weight on the leg as much as possible.
Trying to stay positive also, this being the 4th major operation in the last 10 months of my life, makes it a little difficult with patience every moment of the day. However I am totally grateful for what I have been given, for those who dont know me, May 18, 2007, laproscopic gastric bypass, weighing in at 205kg or about 455 lbs, making any hip surgery impossible. December 14 abdominoplasty and Jan 14 emergency belly button repair and retighten of entire abdominoplasty and now finally Feb 27 left hip replacement, had only one pain med and have felt great ever since. I am now weighing 93kg or 202lbs and feeling like I have been given a second chance to have a wonderful life at the age of 45.
