Great news, Ronnie! It's true that the waiting for surgery day definitely is the hardest part of the whole process. When you get anxious, come and talk here....we ALL understand those jitters.

I think everyone should be presented with a "MEDAL" after they get the op, presented by the Queen or the President!

Here here......me too......something anyway .......lol.great thread.......hope you are doing well.......)

Just received a leter from the hospital this morning, my operation has been re-scheduled for the 29th Decenber 2009.Good old N.H.S. :hissy:

Ronnie
I am so sorry they did that to you.
I can relate totally. I had back surgery in Jan which essentiallycaused more pain.
Well i was finally scheduled for disk removal on Oct 1st. It was an 8 week wait . On Sept 30th my surgeon called me to tell me he was cancelling it as the hospital did not have the eqipment he needed working.
So he finally sent me to a different surgeon, new date (was supposed to be only a week or 2 wait) is Dec 11th.
some days are really bad pain wise.
But we will both make it. I was so upset, but in a few days i felt better about it, just frustrated , but not so depressed

Hi Judy,
Frustration! Frustration! but as you say we will get there in the end. The other frustration for me is, I play Sax in an 8 peice band, so I had arranged for a guy to dep for me for all my xmas gigs and now I can't very well say sorry but I don't need you as he has booked flights from England to Belfast. But thats life. Speak o you soon.
Ronnie :hehe:

Sorry about the postponement and all the trouble it's causing Ronnie. But, we'll both have our new hips before the new year. Doesn't that sound good?

Postponement must really be the worst, Ronnie.....But once you have the surgery....you'll be so happy! I'll be thinling of you! Take good care!!! ((:0)

Oh that is disappointing too. My son was getting married here in Ca after Christmas. They had to cancell do to me being only 2 weeks out of surgery. That was the second time they changed the date for me and my back surgery.
Hey we are a day closer now!!!

Hi Josephine,
I rang the hospital and the revised date is to due to an emergency coming in, this has knocked everything back and of coarse christmas. But I don't mind f its for an emergeny case.

So sorry to hear this news, Ronnie. But you have a great attitude about it and once it's done....the wait will be well worth it!

Top of the morning, Ronnie.
I’m so sorry for the bad news. They’re really testing you. Have you paid all your parking tickets? Maybe I’d place a call to 10 Downing Street and demand they explain themselves? You got the number handy?

My wife uttered something along the lines, “What, they’re postponing Ronnie’s surgery until he is the emergency patient?” Fortunately you posses the right attitude and strength, and few more day really will not ruin your life. It’s never too late to become an Other Sider. We all are eagerly waiting for your arrival.

I think Gordon Brown has a few more pressing items to contend with, but I will get there in the end. Hope everything is well with you. This is a really great forum, great people, great friends!!
Speak to you soon
Ronnie

Hey Ronnie that is very sweat of you............) i absolutely love this place and the people are amazing.......

Ronnie you have a great attitude about it all. I told my kids when mine first got postponed with no new date that I hated the world!!!! I waas trying to tell them not to test my limits at the time!!

Conas ta tu, Ronnie? It seems that you’re the band all by yourself playing each and every one of the instruments. Good for you. I’m still unable to get hold of that Brown guy, I’m sorry to say. They keep on telling me that the poor chap is “busy” with some Cumbria matter, whatever that is. He is avoiding my calls. A few more days, mom ami, and then you’re one of us, The People of The Other Side. Hopefully, you’ve read the 1500-page manual to prepare yourself for the fantastic life on this side? Please keep us posted.

Hi TJ,
sorry I don't speak Irish, I can't wait to be on the other side as the pain gets worse day by day.

"keep err lit"

Ronnie:thmb:

Ronnie, I’m sorry to hear about the pain. No wonder the waiting game gets old. Hopefully you have all the pain meds your body requires to keep Ronnie somewhat comfortable. I need to get hold of that brownie dude.
Did I forget to mention, the command of Gaelic is included in the Other Sider pack. I don’t speak Gaelic myself either, but after the surgery these odd words and sentences keep on popping to my head, like slainte agus tainte and ta me go hontach. Odd, very odd.

Good to see that you’re still in high spirits. How many instrument do you play?
