My Orthopedic surgeon has said that when I do need surgery for my hip, he wants to start with core decompression. He also said that he will put a titanium rod in the hole for stability. I have heard of using bone like material, but not titanium. Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks

I Have A Titanuim Rod In My Left Hip Called The Hedrocel. It Was Put In 3 Years Ago. It Has Never Worked For Me. I'm Having It Taken Out On Sept. 12 Of This Year. Then I Will Have A Thr Hopefully It Will Take The Avn Pain Away. My Doctor Says He's Had To Remove Several Rods They Are Fairly New, When I Got Mine They Were Doing Research On Them. I Think I Should Have Researched More Before Being A Guniea Pig.

Reports on the results of this procedure are somewhat checkered.
