Hello! Surgery is 2/23 my LTKR this time, had Rt done in 2020, mako with unbelievable positive results.
I waited too long 1st time and this time haven’t done any steroids just surgery. Last time nerve block wore off at about 26 hours. We had to call in because my pain was so bad we had to approve added pain dosage. I would rather use pain meds over time than run out. . . Has anyone had a continuous nerve block and gone home ? I would rather have that than the dose of oxy 7.5 mgs 4-5 hours I was taking the first time. Just 24 hours of that and I used up a good portion of the pain meds prescribed. Hoping my choice to do surgery sooner will help.

Greetings K. If you mean an inserted catheter w/ the pump inserted into the thigh for five days yes I had that. The pump itself was battery operated and was held with in pouch I could put over my shoulder or attach to my walker. It was great. Additionally, I was taking Oxy and Tylenol but certain the pump reduced the pain edge in between tablet meds.

By the time the self-regulating pump emptied I was ok just for the other meds. I only had to increase pump dosage twice. My visiting nurse explained the process of removing pump. All went fine w/ mailing the pump back as well.
