Post surgery,even with vigorous therapy some folks just can't get full extension or flexion of the leg..
In that case some surgeons may want to do a "Manipulation" of the knee. Essentially, they are bending and straightening the leg to break loose adhesion's that may have formed.
The manipulation procedure and use of pain medications seem to be the most frequent concerns I've seen posted on the forum.
 
Thanks for clarifying. I had been wondering what the acronym stood for. Whew! I wouldn't want to have that done without anesthesia. Sounds like it could hurt a bit without it!

Manipulation without anaesthetic is the kind of thing chiropractors and physiotherapists do.
