Beach,
I truly wish I could just show up and surprise you all..I love to see different parts of our big country and the N.W. is one place I've never seen. Oregon seems like such a beautiful sportsman's paradise. There was a program on logging that I watched tonight. filmed in I thing northern Or.
I did Google Earth the Lincoln City area. Nice long beach

Doug,
If you showed up, the three of us would just hook arms and show the world how far we have come, scarry knees and all! I'd show you both all my favorite beach places and the place where my soul lives. There is a place here along the beach with one of the most picturesque lighthouses in the world with a beautiful, musical stream that empties out into the ocean beneath a soaring , arched bridge. It truly is a magical place.

Oregon and the rest of the NW is truly a sportsman's paradise. From where Skeet and I both live you can actually hit the ski slopes all morning and watch spectacular beach sunsets in the evening. If you ever get the traveling urge--- make the Pacific Northwest one of your "must sees". You won't regret it.

Yeah but now that I have had two friends up there, I've been watching your weather as well as the locations of some of our other posters...I think if I visited the N.W. it would definitely have to be in the late Spring or summer...You guys get some serious winter...You probably wouldn't be able to pull this Fla. guy outside...White stuff falling from the sky!!!

I live in the mid Willamette Valley and we rarely see white stuff. The mountains get a lot of it (hence the ability to go skiing) but that's about it. Our winters are relatively mild. I hate being cold, so I wouldn't survive eastern Oregon where it gets really cold and snowy. Actually, September/October is often the hottest part of the year. July 4 is the turning point. Usually after that we have pretty nice warm weather. Come visit any time!

I would darn sure love to visit...but now I have to work everything around those good old school schedules...Maybe someday...

skeet, is skiing an option, or spectator sport!?

Panama City??Let me check I hope it isn't the weekend my son has a chorus trip to Atlanta Ga. We (wife and I) are chaperones.
Darn, I sure hope it isn't.

Called and couldn't get her at work..which isn't unusual.
Whenever it is I'm supposed to go, it will be the first time I've chaperoned 8th graders. I might have to put some police whoop on'em.
Have you been down to that Redneck Mecca before??

I don't ski. Did it once, but my husband wasn't interested so I decided it wasn't something I should pursue. I don't think I would attermpt it now, but I know folks who have. Personal choice, I guess.

yeah, I asked my home visit PT today and she said she's heard of it. Not for me either, but can you imagine... Aren't we lucky to live today when they can do so much to improve our flaws. What atrue blessing.

Gat,
So in other words you came right down 231 and dead ended in P.C.
My family is also from Alabama. Still there.
We go to Gulf Shores every year.
