Sue,
Great news that your TKR is doing so well and will not be a worry to you during your treatment for this cancer.
Hope the treatments go smoothly for you, and you are able to have your afternoon tea.

Oh dear. Yesterday my knee wasn't feeling itself at all, nothing I could put my finger on, just sore and stiffer than usual. Then at night it was really grating when I bent it....it's never done this before. I thought this is what lack of exercise does maybe......maybe not.....
This morning I was texting someone and described it as feeling/sounding like a pepper mill and then the penny dropped....maybe I have a build up of uric acid in the joint from the result of chemo. Have rung my Macmillan nurse.
The lymphoma seems intent on targetting this leg.

O dear Sue dosent sound good. I hope your Macmillan Nurse will be able to shed some light on it. Recovering from TKR is hard enough without chemo coming into the equation. Hope you find out and hopefully solve the problem. When do you get a break Sue. I hope its soon. You really really deserve it. Sending you hugs.

Update is the knee seems to have settled down, saw a GP, no infection. Could have had a blood test today but will wait until I have bloods taken anyway pre-chemo on Monday when they will test for urate levels along with everything else. The GP was concerned I was in the germy surgery and sent me home double quick.:no-fin: :)
robynhood how are you?

Good news to share....
I can't tell you how lovely it is to share some good news. Our son, a recent graduate, has been accepted for his dream job.....I say accepted, there were 58 applicants and he went through selections, interviews and tests.
He/we're just so pleased; we were all crying!!

I have the go ahead for chemo cycle 2 as my bloods were good today. I've been fortunate to have few side effects so far.
I asked about TKR for knee 2, it's starting to complain a little, I've put on a little weight which isn't helping the knees but helps the cancer. Apparently if I get remission and am put on maintenance therapy there will come a window of opportunity for a TKR and it's possible to have it done with lymphoma. That's good news as I wasn't looking forward to knee 2 getting worse, although it was always the most troublesome knee it was pipped at the post for TKR. The thought of going back to years of arthritis pain doesn't well, bear thinking about.
Sue.

Well, I had chemo cycle number 2 with more allergic reactions, this time racing heart beat and feeling agitated. The day after, yesterday, was awful and I kept thinking I'd rather go through the TKR again. Today much much better thankfully. I have been restaged to Grade 3a and Stage 4 Follicular lymphoma as my bone marrow is "suspect."
My operated leg swelled up again but now, relief, it's going down as the tumours are reducing with the chemo on Friday. I'm not walking much though but have a lovely ROM today. Bionic woman2 I wear a face mask if I really have to go anywhere germy, as I have extremely low immunity with my regime so I turn up for my blood tests with a surgical mask, don't want you to scare the kindergarten though. :happydance:

I am happy that your leg swelling is coming down and your ROM was better again. So sorry about the nasty reactions, chemo is so hard for some illnesses. When will they know about your bone marrow? I hope they are wrong and their suspicions are unfounded. Best wishes for you.

Oh my, how awful Sue. I'm so amazed that you find in yourself to continue to post and think of others with all that you are going through. I would like for you to nab a couple of those face masks for me though, the kids will GET OVER IT, I can't catch their little nasties. :heehee: figured you could use a chuckle.

If you have time go to my page and click on the link I posted yesterday (I think) it's excerpts of humorous game show answers. Lol I'm about to watch it again.

Again, I am truly saddened by your condition and I have no words right now to express myself. :umm: Yeah, ME short on words. :skep:

Give me a minute.... :console2: :friends:
