After Chemo starts on Friday I won't be able to go out, so I'm doing everything before then.

Where is Breaking Bad, is it on SKY? I must watch this.....

Sue, I'm starting to feel like an agent for Breaking Bad. Dorothy put me on to it. Its the BEST thing I've seen in ages. It was an american tv series. We get it here on DVD. I bought mine off Amazon. Because I wasn't sure I'd like it I just bought series 1 for £10. It would have worked out much cheaper if I had bought the complete boxed set. Although from memory I don't think the final series (series 5) is available here until November (not sure).

The journey that Walt embarks on as a result of his cancer has many threads to it. The odd one is that for the first time in a long time he starts to respect himself.

Sue, if you start watching BB we can have long discussions (don't groan) on what goes down. I keep trying to get my husband to do the analysis with me, but he wont.

Hello Ladies,
My son loves B.B, he just went to a Halloween party, dressed as Walter. He can repeat whole dialogues
From that show. He crushed up blue cough drops for the crystal meth. :heehee:
I am going to have to watch & we can all talk about the show :)
Sue,
Glad you are getting out & about with your grand daughter. I agree with Carol...I don't believe in luck,
But, I do believe in prayer  sending Hugs your way !!!!

Sue new knee in June I know neither of you have seen BB, but I wanted to get an opinion on something that my sister and I can't see eye to eye on. Walt (the man with lung cancer) wants to provide for his family. Initially he hasn't got long to live (although later he gets remission). His wife is pregnant, they have a son with cerebral palsy. They have massive medical bills and no money. Walt wont accept charity from friends, and besides he needs a lot of cash to provide for the next 20 yrs. Being a scientist he starts making crystal meth to raise some quick cash. Eventually wife finds out and tells him to get out. She deliberately sleeps with her boss so that Walt will get the message. She wants nothing more to do with him. He tells her why he did it, ie for the family's future, but she is adamant. She files for divorce.

So my question. Was Skyler (Walt's wife) right to take this stand and if not what should she have done?

Carol I'm gonna KILL YOU!!!!!!!!! :gaah: I'm trying to catch up on Sue's thread and what is this I hear... you talking about BREAKING BAD! :hissy: But I didn't know since you used an acronym, which I hate because educators go overboard with them and fail to clue you in on WTH they're talking about to begin with. :gaah:lol Anyway, just found out something about "BB" I didn't know. Okay, so the series is technically OVER and it's "my" bad, but I will revel in my displeasure just a moment longer. :umm:Okay, times up. Hi Carol, hope all is going well with you and you forgive me for my Mel Gibson rant. :rotfl:

Hi Sue, enjoy your getaway. :egypdance:

Getaway was lovely, sussed out best rooms for next visit, am in love with a hotel. I'm using my walking stick again, but never mind. Oh my other knee do not protest, it is not your turn.
Treated myself to a new daybag and matching scarf, in red rose print and some good books. Waiting for BB to arrive, shall we start BB discussion in the social room? :what:

Carol I'm gonna KILL YOU!!!!!!!!!

chuckle,

sorry Raqia, but I didn't reveal much of the B R E A K I N G B A D (see no acronyms) story line. You gotta watch it then we'll do as Sue suggests and unpick it in Social Room. Because I think I have everybody's personalities worked out (yours, Sue's, Dorothy and may be even Diana), I'm willing to bet what stance each of you take on the Walt/Walt's wife issue).

Hi Dabs, you seem as room crazy as I am. Whenever we go anywhere I invariably ask for a different room to the one they have given me. I do the same in restaurants. The one thing I hate more than anything is to be given a seat in a restaurant where I have to look at the wall. I want to see everything that's going on - not face a wall. I don't think its fair to give the looking at wall seat to my companion either, so I kick off - politely of course (well sort of). But honestly who in their right minds wants to go out for the evening and be given a seat with their back to the room - lovers in their first flush perhaps, but that hardly applies to me.

You always feel someone else's room must be better than yours, so I tend to ask now for next time and do a bit of peering round doors when the cleaner is in. Yes, same with restaurant.

I've brought back my 6 month TKR check up to 5 months.....tomorrow afternoon because after that I may not be able to go because of my cancer treatment.
I don't know what my consultant will make of the knee. Today it's really tight and swollen, it has a large lump at the upper outside and a smaller but pronounced lump on the inside front. It feels incredibly stiff and tight. I'm doing very little, but anything other than resting almost completely now seems too much in all ways, kneewise and generally.:umm: :what:
Sue.

At last some one who comes at this the same way as me. You know Dabs, there's probably a name for it - roomofiles or roomism or some such. But you know by tendency to want to over analyse. Well I think this shows that we were both deprived as children in some deep, emotional way. The other kids always had something bigger or better. We've carried this into adulthood and we're compelled to go round checking there's nobody getting the drop on us now. What do you think? Carol

No, no Jaki. Its not between wall v loo as you well know. When you can see the whole of the room you can people watch. I just think most people are too willing to accept the seat the waiter gives them. But its not the waiters' night out. C

ps: did you get the message I sent you re the Puffin thread? I presume you did and it wasn't of any help.

Do let me know what the consultant has to say. Do you think the lumps are to do with the cancer? Carol

I'm sure it's something to do with the whole swollen leg thing. I feel I may be setting a precedent here for my surgeon. I'll let you know what he says. I think there are lymph nodes around the knee. I'm icing and elevating it now.

Carol@patient 99, what season/episode are you up to? I'm gonna try and catch up, I've started a new series with my son.

Good luck manna at the dr's Sue. I'm relaxing today after yesterday's Post-op visit and grocery store run. My progress is on schedule. He said my ROM was between 115-120. He obviously wasn't sweating the numbers, so neither am I. I have 2 more Dr apps and a OP therapy session coming up this week. The driving takes its toll, but I usually just ice and elevate when I get home.

Hope you're having a good day and your swelling went down.

Hey Carol, do you think maybe you had to sit in the corner facing the wall as a child, and THAT has something to do with your table selective-ness? :umm:

What did the OS say Sue?

sit in the corner facing the wall as a child, and THAT has something to do with your table selective-ness? :umm:

I think its a survival thing - a throw back to the times when we lived in caves and there was danger on every cave corner. Back then you didn't sit facing the wall, rather you had your back to the wall so you could see what was coming at you. On the other hand it could just be that I'm nosey.

Sue new knee in June thinks we are genteel english ladies. I'm quite chuffed about that - I bet you are too. Jeeves, tea for two in the drawing room - and look sharp about it. Think I've got the hang of it <wink>.

Raqia, I've just finished series 3 of Breaking Bad - 2 more to go. I think I'm in love with Jessie Pinkman. Do you think he might be a bit too young for me? Carol
