Hi one and all

I just got back to Aussie from an eventful trip through Southern and Central Africa. My wife and I have been traveling for close on 4 months and it’s good to be home!
Apart from 2 breakdowns in the middle of nowhere (Near the DRC/Zambian border) and an emergency operation on my calf for a large hematoma all went well

I started the trip 3 months post BTKR and now at 7 months I can say the operation was well worth it. I could never have done the trip a year ago! No pain is wonderful!

Richard

Richard,
How nice to hear from you! I remember when you were leaving on your trip. I am glad it went well aside from your emergency hematoma surgery. I am approaching my 1 year anniversary for BTKR.
I am pleased you were able to enjoy your trip. Now you have to share photos so we can vicariously travel thru your trip!
Best,

Richard, so glad you made it home safely. The last I remember hearing from you, you were in the hospital in a separate city from your wife....NOT GOOD! I'm thrilled everything worked out and you had a great trip. I agree....photos!!

Congradulations Richard, sounds like an amazing trip you were on. I am glad your knees held up so well. I am only 9 weeks so its is actually good to know. Thanks for sharing....It really means alot.....I hope you continue to have all the success in the world with your knees. Im sure you will..................Thanks...

Good going, Rich!!! Congrats and take good care of yourself! It's nice to hear from you!

Hi Richard,

Pleased to hear you are back safe and sound.

Sounds like you are doing well. Congrats.

I am also 7 months post op BI-TKR and share your enthusiasm. Although I have done no traveling (jelious) I have done many things pain free for the first time in many years. I have realized just how much I had sacrificed because of the pain. Now that there is no pain I find things daily that I love to do that I would not have dared in years past.

Best wishes; GODSPEED

Max

Richard-
You are amazing! I, too, remember the part about you and your wife being separated because of your medical needs--you are both so brave! Glad that the rest of your fabulous journey went well and that you're safely home with all the wonderful memories to share.
Blessings,
Irene
