Just want to update you on my 6 month progress. I went to the doctor today because I ddin't want to use the dynasplint anymore. He seemed to agree with me that after 3 months it was not very effective. I mentioned to him about my pain (remember Josephine, I said that I was just taking the Vicadin to take the edge off). I started taking another vicadin during the day and what a difference it made. Well, today I told my doctor that I really did not want to be on vicadin for a long time so he suggested celebrex. He stated that a lot of his patients have had great success with the swelling (which I still have considerably) and with the pain (which I still have but it is not severe). He told me that in 2 weeks I should notice a significant improvement on both. (He didn't want to discuss what if it didn't work! Ha!) Has anyone out there tried this? It is very expensive but he gave me 2 weeks of free samples to try.
For all of you 6 months into this and not fortunate enough to be feeling great and bending like normal, my doctor told me that I looked like I was 1/2 way to recovery!!! 6 more months of this!! Patience, Laura, Patience!!! I'm still at the gym 5 days a week, have a Personal Trainer who is helping me with stretching and strengthening, and have a full time job as a preschool teacher. I can't bend - stretch - and move any more than this.
Jamie, about your pool situation (great area by the way) I painted our classroom - up and down on the ladder for 2 days. Boy did I feel it after that. But, lots of ice and elevation did the trick. And this weekend out on my patio painting again - up and down a ladder. Oh ya, that's why I am so sore today!!!!
