    :hi: @cattirusia
I'm sorry to seeing you struggle and feel neglected.
Not helpful to getting well and hard for those who haven't been there to understand how anxious one can get about how our new hip is doing.
Hoping all goes well today...and this is just a hiccup on the recovery road.
    Hugs:console2:

Yesterday I went to emergency hoping the seromas can be removed. Waited for more than 5 hours for the doctor to tell me that my surgeon is the one to speed up the process. Also I am experiencing pain in my knee and pulling from my groin area down to my knee and cracking. Told the surgeon last time I saw him.

Have anybody experienced knee pain after hip replacement?
I am so afraid that something can go wrong.

@Catirrusia , yes! I am having knee pain now, three weeks after surgery. I believe my knee is complaining about having to work again since I protected the entire right side before THR. I am hoping that after some strengthening and exercise the knee will come along.

I had more pain in my knee than my hip on my first THR... it took quite a while to settle down but all ok in the end....water walking really helped it...
    Hope yours settles down soon.

Thank you all for your comments. I feel better and hope mine will settle down too.
Next week, I am going to have an xray from my hip all the way down to my ankle.

    Hi @Catirrusia
Knee pain is a very common complaint after hip surgery.
Depending upon the approach your surgeon used, the knee is often manipulated rather aggressively in an effort to dislocate the hip. See if icing helps your knee. Ice for 40-60 minutes each time you ice. I'm sure with time it will ease. Let us know how your appt goes next week.
    A nice weekend to you!

Hi there, I got fluid aspiration yesterday and felt a bit better, but in the afternoon I felt pain in my groin and something pulling down. When I touch around the scar and groin it feel pretty hard and don't know if it is tissue and if it is normal.

I saw the doctor last Wednesday and he told me that new xray of my operated leg from hip to foot were fine and if the aspiration did not help, he would not know what else to do. I still waiting to get an MRI. I am very discouraged after 10 weeks.

Now I am doing physio for my knee and gluteal area. I would like to get a second opinion, but don't know where to go and in Canada takes months to see a doctor.
I know the area is still swollen, but don't know about the rest issues and why my gluteal and knee hurts. I try to be positive, but yesterday got into tears as I want to feel normal again.:beg:

Thank you. When I try to lift the leg, it hurts a lot. Have to see the doctor again on Wednesday and know what he is going to say. I am thinking in going to Buffalo for MRI.
Here, we have to wait 3 months.
What do you think it could be? Maybe tissue touching the implant. I am afraid that he will not see me again

    Oh, surely they will.
I'm really sorry to see you struggling so.
I do hope you are still applying ice and do be careful with the PT.
It can often cause issues rather than alleviate pain.
What kind of exercises are you doing, may I ask?
Healing hugs as you try to get answers:console2:

@Catirrusia If you are thinking of Buffalo, you must be close to me (Hamilton). I was looking at a long wait for MRI but with a few phone calls got myself on a cancellation list and got in early the following Saturday morning. (I think it was 7:30am). Once that was done, appointments all starting to fall into place though I always made myself available for short notice cancellations which paid off at least twice. I feel so sad for you that you feel so alone in this! Try talking to your husband and make it clear you are feeling alone and nervous. He likely has nothing personal to compare it to so might need some gentle teaching. Try not to mad or frustrated with him or he will shut down even more. I will keep you in my thoughts as you move through this.

Where did you get the MRI? Called all hospital here in and they said no cancellation list.
Maybe if I called Hamilton Hospital. What did the MRI show?

What is the hospital in Hamilton? Did the MRI show the problem? As I said before the doctor knows what is wrong but he does not want to admit it.

I do stretching and sitting. Cannot do much as it hurts

I had my MRI at the Juravinski but you have to have a doctor refer you there. My MRI was not related to my hip. All 3 hospitals here do MRI's. Where do you live?

I found a private place where I can get the MRI pretty fast.
I got up with lots of pain in my groin and moves all the way to my butt.
I am taking medication for the anxiety plus medication for the pain.
I think the anterior hip replacement is not very successful.
    Does anybody have these problems?
    Please help

    I doubt it's that.
I think a better term to use would be assertive!

I think you need me to give you a 'second opinion', Catirrusia! But in order to do that, I also need to ask you some questions. Are you willing for me to do that?

    yes, please go ahead

The doctor said today that maybe the tendon on my groin area is inflamed and he is going to apply cortisone to that through looking to area with an ultrasound. He will do it next Tuesday but he still wanted me to go to Buffalo and get the MRI but my husband said to let everything settle, if the MRI shows something, have to go again to the open up procedure. He thinks that muscles will settle.

    Any advice?
It's my body and today the pain went from the groin all around to the butt and really sharp.

    Please, help

    Please advice:oyvey:

    Good Evening, Catirrusia
Next time, Josephine, the forum Nurse is online she will post some questions for you to answer.
She resides in the U.K. and with the time difference, it won't be tonight. Please check back
tomorrow to see if she's had time to list the questions here. After you answer them she'll
    respond back.
I hope you sleep well tonight.

I live in Richmond Hill, but don't mind to go to Hamilton.

I don't think the doctor knows was going on.
I told him that it can be a tendon in the groin area and then he said "let's inject cortisone too. It will help with the inflammation". Cortisone may alleviate the pain, but will not cure the problem.

Plus I have pain in my butt.
This very stressful and trying to control my anxiety.

    Please, advice.
    Thanks

    Hi @Catirrusia
The next time @Josephine is on the forum she'll most likely post some questions for you to answer.
After that, she'll advise. She will be the best one here to offer advice based on your responses to her questions.
    Please check back periodically.
I hope you have a nice weekend.
