Hi all. Yesterday I got a call from my OS office. Apparently, one of my blood tests done at the hospital had to be repeated. Rather than going all the way in Manhattan, I went to my PMD's off and they repeated it for me.
OK, that's not too bad, you say? Well....this morning, my PMD's office called and said that they were just informed that there was a LAB ERROR on my new sample. GOOD LORD! Can you say freak out?
OK, calm down Terri, sooooo they faxed a script to a local lab and I ran over there to get it repeated AGAIN. I just got the call that the result is FINALLY OK. Now I am sitting here blubbering like a baby. Too much stress and emotion for the last two days.

Hey Terri, I think They just like your blood! That's how they get you to donate these days, a couple hundred tubes and you got a pint!!:cnsl:

Re: BUMPMS in the road!

Terri,
Good luck tomorrow. Unfortunately, they sure do like to stick you a lot in the hospital. Before my first hip replacement surgery I had to go to the hospital a couple days before for a type, screen, and match. After I got home I got a call from the hospital that they didn't have enough blood for the match, so could I please come back to do it again. Yuk. But after the surgery, someone seemed to show up around 5:30 am every day to draw blood. Good Morning, please let me turn on all the lights and draw blood. At least when I got home, the at home nurse only had to do a finger prick for the PT/INR test every few days.
It's just all part of my distant memory now. Soon it will all be in the past for you as well. Good Luck,
Doug

Re: BUMPMS in the road!

Bless your heart Terri! It can be so stressful before the surgery. I think most of us did a lot of blubbering right before the surgery! I know I did. Best of Luck with your surgery! I shall be saying prayers for you! You will be fine!

Re: BUMPMS in the road!

Thanks for all the warm thoughts and encouragement! Hubby and I took a 3pm train in NYC, checked into our hotel and then went down to Greenwich Village to our favorite Spanish restaurant. Yes, I did have one glas of white sangria with my dinner, even though they told me not to drink alcohol the night before surgery I don't think there is much alcohol i n sangria, alot of fruit though. Now we are back in our room, just relaxing, watching TV. I am planning to take an ambien tonight so that I can actually sleep!
I have to be at the hospital at 6AM, for surgery at 7:30, first case, YEAH! They even called to confirm it already.

Re: BUMPMS in the road!

Good night all, i'm going to try to get some sleep. I haven't had a good night sleep in about4-5 days. I hope that tonight's the night.

Re: BUMPMS in the road!

Terri,
I'm praying that all your bumps are over. You are probably up and getting ready to go to the hospital. You are taking a lot of us along with you in spirit. When I was waiting... waiting... waiting (that's such a bad part) I thought about the folks on here and how supportive they have been. Hope you are up and walking soon - without pain. And NO MORE BUMPS!

Re: BUMPMS in the road!

Yeah! Thanks Beachbum, I'll be so happy to not have any bumps today!
