Been home since Friday. Staples just now came out! Swelling has gone down. Scar is straight up and down. Pain is moderate. I feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel! In fact, I think I am actually getting bored. I didn't even get to the computer until Friday.

I think my biggest hurdle now is getting PT back on track, and learning to walk again. I lost my gait, prior to surgery. That's a scary thought. I can't recall ever having to think of bending and walking.

Hi--- sounds like you are motivated to get going and doing well at this point. Keep resting, icing, and you'll soon be walking--and appreciating PT. Regards!

I'm today at 4 weeks---I now can say after years of limping -that I am walking straight. It puts a smile on my face. Can't wait to recover enough to walk longer distances for exercise and HIKE. I'll even be able to take my granddaughters for a walk sometime soon.

Welcome Home Cotton, glad to hear you are doing well, keep us posted with your recovery and wishing all the best. Dawnie. XX

Oh I remember that feeling! It was so good when I realised I was bored - I felt it was a move in the right direction.

Hey Cotton Im so happy you are doing well take it easy and yes there is a light at the end of the tunnel........take care and keep us posted.............)

Thanks all. PT just called. They finally got an ok from the insurance company. They will be out in a bit. Was getting a little anxious there!

Cotton, Thats great!

Just think in a few short weeks you will be walking with no pain and no limp and a few short weeks after that you will have days when you don't even notice you knees. I am 9 months post op and loving every minute of it. each day I find things that I have not done in years that are becoming normal activities again.

Work hard at PT it pays in the long run.

Thanks Max. I can't wait to finally get up and walk on my own. It's amazing, just the last 2 days or so, the swelling has gone down a huge amount...which made PT seem to go pretty well today.

You sound like you have done so well with your bilateral and are an inspiration to me and I'm sure to all! Thanks!

Great going, Cotton!! BTW......what does it ever feel like to be BORED????? lol!!! :pzld::wink:
:thmb:

I'm getting kind of ansy, and probably grouchy, frustrated. I want to go to the store and take things back, and pick up this and that. I guess that's a good sign, because one day I'm going to get on up and get on out! : )

Just take it EASY once you start!! You'LL BE JUST FINE!!
