I agree with the strategy of allowing the joint to just rest and focus on getting your mobility back. Walking is the best way to do that and bottom squeezes. This is all temporary, soon you will be in a better place and strength will come as you continue to heal. It’s like having brand new parts that need time to break in and become aligned with the areas surrounding the joint.
