Hey Gang, Glad To Be On This Side Of The Tkr Club. Wish Everyone Was.

On Tuesday I Will Be Able To Say I Am Two Weeks Post Btkr And One Tired Puppy. Glad I Have My Little Chihuahua To Cuddle Up And Nap With. So Far My Day Is Pretty Simple But At Least I Can See Daily Improvement. Just Be Happy When My Normal Energy Returns And Understand That May Take Months. That Is Okay. I Think I Have Earned A Big Of A Rest.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend To All Of You. Drive Safe And Don't Forget To Let Us All Know What You Did This Long Weekend. Rowdy

With a positive attitude like that, you are going to cruise to recovery. It does take a while to get the energy back..
I have my sister up from Palm Bay and one of my oldest friends from Miami. We've gone antiquing for two days and I am about to go crazy. Almost had to pop a pill last night but held off. Lots of walking.
We have pretty much eaten ourselves through N. Fla and S. Ga.
Smoked ribs and baked beans on the menue for tomorrow.

Hey Rowdy! God bless.

And you too, Doug.

Oh Rowdy, 2 weeks already !? Wow! that's great. You'll be moving and cruising before you know it. POMISE. I can hardly believe how fast it goes. I'll be 10 weeks on Tuesday and seems like I just had the surgery. Rest when you are tired. That is important. This weekend we had lunch with my brother in law Saturday and church today and continued packing for the move plan. Maybe a BBQ tomorrow but nothing really planned. Sleep late.

Rowdy, so good to hear things are going well for you. Keep up the great attitude. I want you to know that at 5.5 months, I finally have my energy back about 90%. It feels so good to be back to normal!! God bless you!

Rowdy, I remember those times, my energy is much better now at almost 20 weeks, but I still need a daily nap for an hour or more. If I shop for more than an hour I am exhausted, but I still don't have any pain even when I have been cleaning etc. Yes I have tons of swelling, like a basket bal after I finished opening up our trailer this weeken, but iced, elevated and slept, but NO PAIN !!

It's great to hear your positive attitude. You will feel down at times, but you will be able to work through that, especially with all the great people on this site to support you. I don' think I could have got through this without my friends here. Thanks agian everyone!! Keep smiling Rowdy. (((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) Sue

Went for a walk yesterday afternoon up the block and back. Trying to walk around the house as much as possible. Actually cooked my own breakfast day before yesterday. This morning I woke up sore and would like to go back to sleep but am not sleepy really. So guess I am up and uncomfortable but still better than anything before surgery. THink I will take a day for me and say to heck with the whole thing. Right now my biggest obstacle seems to be finding a comfortable chair I can sit in and get out of too. Oh, the challenges we face, huh? Will post again tomorrow and hope everyone has a great Holiday today. Rowdy

Rowdy, you are doing an AWESOME job of recovery!!! I can't believe you are doing so much this soon after your surgery!!! A good attitude helps and you are pusing yourself too....good things to get you where you want to be faster. I can't wait to hear from you when you're at 4 or 6 weeks. It will be amazing! Don't feel at all guilty about taking EVERY day as a "me" day. Healing is your job right now...#1 priority in your life!! Well, that and hugging your dog(s).

Walking up the block?! wow. look out here she comes. I'm so thrilled for you. I remember the joy and happy tears in the gift of pain free walking. Enjoy!

Congrats, Rowdy! Sounds like you're really doing well! I'm not too far ahead of you, at 3.5 weeks now, but one thing I can tell you is that there is a WORLD of difference even between weeks 2 and 3. I can walk pretty well now and am doing several blocks at a time, and even shopping (using the shopping carts is a great way to gain a bit of stability and practice my new walk--better than crutches for me).

By next week you'll look back and be amazed at how much better you feel!

Weezy...you're doin' great too! Boy, it took me a lot longer than 3 1/2 weeks to be able to walk blocks. I was still just tooling around the house at that point and thinking THAT was really good. Bless you .... what great stories from you and Rowdy!!!

Really? boy, it sure doesn't seem like I'm doing so well! It seems like its baby steps all the way and slow ones at that...and I don't know what I'd do without the advice and reality checks from this group!

Today we're "going out" to a real restaurant for lunch--my first venture to eat out since the TKR. Yesterday was my first venture into a shopping mall and Macys--had to pick out my birthday and graduation present! :)

I guess we all just keep pushing ahead every day...celebrating the good days and getting through the down days....and this group sure helps!

Weezy, hope you enjoy your outing. let us know how it was bending around the chair or booth.

It was GREAT! I was really surprised about getting in and out of the booth. I slid in with my good leg first, and when I went to get up, all I needed was to brace against the table with one hand and my hubby helped me a bit by pulling my other hand. Actually, I think it was easier getting up than before my LTKR!

It was really nice just to sit in a restaurant, eat, and watch the world go by. Even though I'm not lonely at home because of my hubby, 16 y.o. stepson, two dogs and seven cats, neighbor kids and my 28-y.o. eldest who visits on weekends, I realize I have missed just being out and about and seeing other people.

Then we went to Ikea where I walked about 3/4 of a block to the entrance and then scootered (and walked back to the car!) and THEN to Home Depot where I walked all over!! Life is happening again!

Up Date On The New Little Dog My Husband And Son Rescued. Last Night Was The First Night We Let Him Stay With The Rest Of The Little Guys In The Living Room And Our Bedroom. After About Two Hours Of Him Going Into My Husbands Bed And Waking Him Up My Husband Came Into The Living Room Where My Hospital Bed Is Set Up And Announced If He Was Going To Get Any Sleep He Would Have To Lock The Gate In Our Bedroom And He Went Back To Be. Next Time I Got Up To Go The Bathroom I Was Careful To Close The Gate And Secure It To Keep Out Two Littlest Guys. I Am Sitting In The Bathroom Half Asleep When I Hear What Can Be Nothing But The Squeezing Of Two Little Bodies Through The Gate. Peeking Around The Corner I Saw My Little Gal Making A Beeline To Me And The New Little Guy Bouncing Up Onto My Hubbies Bed. They Named Him Rocket And Believe Me Last Night He Lived Up To The Name And Then Some. Finally About Four A.m. He Had Worn Himself Out And I Got To Go To Sleep Until Around Seven Or Thereabouts. My Husband Brought My Lovenox Shot To Me At 6:30 And I Gave That To Myself In My Sleep Although He Had To Wake Me Up To Finish Wiping My Tummy Off With Alcohol. I Had Actually Fallen Asleep With My Pants Pulled Down And A Pinch Of Skin In One Hand And An Alcohol Swab In The Other. Am I A Sexpot Or What? Lol.. So Little Dog Is Officially One Of The Pack And Doing Well. Rowdy

Oh so funny. I can see it! I won't say how lucky I am that I never dropped this $700 worth of laptop because I fell asleep with it, well, top my lap.

Weezy I Am Curious And To Lazy To Go Back Through Posts To Find Out. Did You Have Both Knees Done Or One? I Ask Because I Would Like Some Kind Of Measuring Stick As To When People Are Doing Things. Hope You Don't Mind My Asking. Anyway Sounds Like You Are Going Great Guns. Rowdy

Rowdy...you need to go back and read "REF'S" posts starting last January.....Tim was a poster child for bi-lats....he did it right.

You seem to be doing very well yourself!!
