hello all. Saw the blood specialist today. My doctor sent him a letter she thought I may have cancer. She did this only to speed things up for me. I thought this was a bit untruthful but she did it. Saw the blood specialist today and he was gruesome. He has got me booked for a CT scan now which I could do without but there you go, what can I do? He says he must do it so he can see I am cancer free. I think this is not right because I feel ok and my blood work is good for my age.

Hi @Ursula72 ..... glad you have been seen quickly, hope your CT scan is soon so that you can get the go-ahead for your hips. Fingers crossed that all is well, keep us posted

They can..but mine didn't very much. I kept ice on hips alot also didn't have much problems with swelling.

Hello Josephine. He was very sharp, but in the copy of the letter that he sent to my doctor (which he also sent me a copy of) he said he found me to be a very pleasant woman. So I had better take my opinion of him as being completely wrong and I take it all back - hang my head in shame!

Also about the approaches in a THR, there’s an anterior and a side one and a posterior one. My surgeon is doing the side one on me. Are you from the North East? My Mum came from Consett.

Do you have a date yet Ursula?
Glad you like the doctor...
Hope you have a Good weekend.

Ursula I know how you felt about that Dr. I thought my rehab Doc very direct, blunt and pessimistic. Not that I disliked her...just didn’t feel all warm and fuzzy. Then I got a copy of her letter to my GP today and she says “thank you for referring this very pleasant 61 year old lady”......well, that was a surprise! I too should hang my head in shame.

Just because they know how to be nice when talking to the referring physician doesn't mean they're nice at the bedside!

Hi @Ursula72
Haven't heard from you in awhile. Wondering how you're doing?
Hope you're well. Wishing you a good week!
Update us when you have the time. Would love to hear from you.

OH, Consett's not far from me. I'm just south of Sunderland!

Hi @Ursula72 .....how are you doing, have they given you a date yet? Hope you're enjoying the spring over there....we seem to be galloping towards winter

It’s ages since I’ve heard from anyone....I must be getting confused with the forum. I’ve got my date for surgery June 6th. Really all in all I’ve only waited nearly 5 months...I have a mini pre op on 31st May. All systems go.:yes!:

Hi Ursula....we haven't forgotten you, think you've overlooked your other thread 'At Last'. Terrific news about your date....we're galloping thro April, May will probably go just as fast and then you're just about there! Now you can start focussing on making sure you're fit and well, and thinking about setting up your home for recovery. Keep posting with all those little questions that jump into mind once you've got a date :chinstroke::)

Hello anny, Yes, I did miss the thread, I think my brain needs a work out. Now I’m thinking...”Why didn’t I think of that ?” Not to worry. Yes, I will post any concerns. My date is 6thJune. I’ve only started doing the excercises that have to be done. I’m ok with all the others except the leg raise as it sets my bad back off...think I’ll miss that one,but they you need to get the right leg built up to get in and out of bed. So there we go.:meow:
