United StatesSaw the OS on Monday and he said he does not want to mix knees and foot at the same time. He said as long as I can walk on the foot and the pain is tolerable than he will leave the broken foot in the hands of my doctor. I have been using a bone stimulator for the past few weeks and I think it is making things worse.
Tomorrow I go down to the Red Cross to donate the 2nd unit of blood and on Thursday I say my internist for a preop physical and that should be it for appointments. I has been hard fitting all these things in as a trip to the OS is a 6 hours drive round trip.
Now just have to get the paperwork straight with work and see if I can get a real answer from the insurance company about inpatient rehabilitation. It seems inpatient physical medicine is not covered but if the doctor says it is medically necessary then they will probably cover it. I really wish I could get an answer so that I could plan things but I guess that is too much to ask.
Anyway, BKA is scheduled for June 3rd due to distance I am going over a day early and staying at a motel that is close to the hospital.
I think the biggest problem is the 10 days without my mega doses of aspirin especially since I have been exercising as hard as possible and of course the weather changed and it is raining.
