TKR Bionic's final op - fingers crossed<

Today's physio went well.
As I had the best nights sleep after the massage last week she decided to do some more today. The stiffness was better afterwards and we got to 90 rom without too much effort.
Whilst sitting on the bench with my legs relaxed the leg with the knee replacement was actually hanging further back than the other leg. It was only a couple of weeks ago that the operated leg stuck out in front of me quite a bit.
My improvement may not be the fastest but it's definitely getting there. Yippee

Not had a bad day today. Went shopping and managed to get everything I wanted on my own.
I was out for several hours but feel very tired now. Hopefully that means I will sleep tonight.
Have a good weekend everyone

And a professional joint replacement recoverer:heehee:
Hope you are doing well, my bionic pal!
:friends:

Had another physio session today. Haven't seen this particular physio for 2 weeks. He was very pleased with me and said my walking has improved 200%
My ROM is still only just above 90 but he said there is light at the end of the tunnel.
That reminded me of a poster I had on my desk when I was working.
It said 'thats not light at the end of the tunnel it's just some :censored: with a torch bringing me more work' :heehee:

@Bionic Glad your session went well. And you are improving. I laughed when I read about the poster on your desk. That made me day.

Today is a very good day......
Not only have we booked a sun, sea and sand holiday in the next few weeks at a relaxing all inclusive resort but I managed to do a full rotation on the bike for the first time YESSSSSSS
:bicycle1:
Well, I'm not quite at the hands free stage yet but there is hope.

Oh, wonderful update.:tada:
Glad to hear things are steadily getting better!
And a vacation to look forward to!:yahoo:

Still getting ready for my holiday but had some good news today :yahoo:
After my knee op OS decided I should see a Rheumatoid Arthritis specialist. That happened this morning and, although she has taken bloods to confirm, it doesn't look like I have RA as all my joints are functioning normally and there is no swelling, apart from the knee which is still mending.
The knee is up and down but I am now managing the exercise bike, with a bit of tension, for 5 mins 3 times a day. for me thats a big step forwards.

Excellent news regarding RA. I was diagnosed 6 years ago and manage well on meds.and diet changes, but the RA was the cause of my Partial Knee Replacement failure, hence a whole new knee less than a year from previous PKR.

So glad to hear you don't have RA
And to see your continued improvement!:dancy:
What a year you have had...
Have a great day, friend!

Back from holiday, actually have been back a week but don't know where the time has gone.
My knee felt stiff while I was away but I didn't have any problems with the flight and the knee felt great in the swimming pool. So much so that I am looking for a pool near home that has shallow steps to get into so that I can carry on the good work.
Flexion still isn't great but extension is very good.
I have managed to put the seat on the exercise bike down a couple of notches although OS has told me last week not to overdo the bike and that I should ice before and after use.
He doesn't want to see me again for 6 months and will xray the knee then.
I have made an appointment for an assessment at a gym near home where they specialise in older people and rehab work but thats not until next week. My gait has definitely improved but its not perfect so strengthening in the gym should help with that. I also need to rebuild my confidence.
Hope everyone is getting on ok

:wave:Glad to hear your knee is going well and that you had a good trip. Wait! No trips:no-fin:
Just holidays, vacations and the like. :)
