Just FYI for anyone considering TKR or Bilateral TKR. My bilateral surgery was May 17,2006. At 3 weeks post op I am gaining more flexion by the day. There is stiffness and some pain but the pain is minimal and is controlled comfortably with Tylenol or Motrin. Sleep has been a problem...or should I say "getting comfortable" to get to sleep, but even that is improving. My new knees feel 'heavy' but I am told that will subside. My3x a week physical therapy is invaluable...a must for progressive recovery.

I almost cancelled out on this surgery, but now I a very glad I proceeded ahead with it. Arthritis was the reason, and that was never going to get 'better'.

I would be happy to email with anyone with questions etc. I know I am not the best case, but I am happy with my progress and look forward to getting better by the day.

God Bless...........annie

Hi Annie, just happy that you are getting along so well. I am scheduled for Sept 20, bilateral knee replacements. I am praying that I will have the good progress you have had. Please email me along and let me know how you are. Say a prayer for me too.

Annie, had left knee on sept 20 and right knee nov. 1 replaced, I am going in for a post op. this fri. and was wondering what questions I should ask. I am still having pain, mostly when I first get up out of a chair. Sleeping is also an issue, when I move my legs the pain will wake me up. You are right about the PT, it is something I would advise everyone to follow thur with. Thanks you , in advance for any help.

John C,
I just saw your post and it seems odd the ones above it are from 2006. If no one answers you jlook at some other threads, there are a lot of us here now that just had our knee or knees done. I have one done 1/4 and going again 3/14 and so far so good.
Please read posts from Doug, Pattipoo, Skeet, JB, Gatiger those people have been on this forum for awhile and if you look back over the past 2 months you will see a lot of info.

johnc here,Im having two new knee put in on may 20th not really looking foward to it but the pain I feel now is killing me. would like to know how you deal with both being done at the same time . Thanks john

Good Luck, John. You'll do fine! I tell everyone that I know to "NOT HESITATE"....a couple of months and you'll feel SOOOOO much better. Make sure you've got a good "caregiver"....allow yourself time to heal (that's a problem we've all had to deal with) and you'll be doing things you've not done in years!!!
We'll be with you every step of the way!
