I read all your posts about feeling the rain come in your new knee. And I again thought
ain't never hit me like that. Well I'm sittin' here having an easy day watching the Cubs
game and all of a sudden I can't find a comfortable position. And I'm thinking you haven't
done anything today to make that knee hurt like that. And low and behold I look at the
weather channel and there's a line of showers about 5 miles to the west of us coming this
way.

gee just think we have become meteorologists ! and didnt have to go to school for it LOL LOL i have become a weather man since my TKR.... JIM

Yep, we are at 60% for tonight and 80% for tomm. I have switched from heat to ice, took a pill and watching the race at Talladega.

I just shopped a little....stopped by Sam's club and owied all the way through....that place HURTS me!!! (milk was 3.22/gal btw.) I don't know about you people, but I'm really buying in bulk these days. Grocery prices are frightening!

Amen on that Patti its getting harder and harder to go to the grocery store we went today got a few things and BAM was 35 bucks and really didnt get a thing .Milk here 3.59 and eggs oh my over 2.00 a dozen .gosh i miss the good ole days whem milk wasnt even a buck a gal and eggs gee whiz we got em for .50 cents from a gal down the road .I think times are a gonna get worse for sure i feel sorry for my Grand kids and whats ahead for them . JUst my 2 cents worth LOL JIM

jb,
I agree with you..I think times are going to get tougher for all of us. We have been looking at getting my wife a new car. We waited too long, the latest gas prices has everyone trading in their SUV's. We won't get any trade in at all on our Tahoe.
I also think we aren't even close to seeing the worst of the higher prices yet.

Two cans of tuna 1$ each, Box of cereal, Can of coffee & jar of mayo -$10.98.
Rainy knees, never say never I guess.

O.K., let's be optimistic. High price of gas means we need to walk and cycle more.
High price of food means a new type of diet.
Good for our knees in the long run.

Hardly any Groceries - $10.98
New knees - priceless

ya know Doug we have a 2000 hyundai and i was wanting to get rid of it last year im sooooooooo glad we didnt it gets 38 mpg so i think we are a gonna keep it they say this time next yr 5.00 gas :O(

Listen to Doug being all optimistic and such. I'm so proud! Try having two hungry teen age boys - they get you with food and gas, both. Not to mention car insurance!

We started getting bread at the "outlet" and doing more bulk as well. Having to cut back all over the place. The only thing going down these days is salary and attitudes!

Love you all!

We have a freihofers outlet. Ever try Aldi's? Places like that are going to get busier & busier. My hubby just got a new job that comes with a truck and the gas that goes in it. Praise God. More money as well. But the health insurance is going to be about $250 a week. I'm just byding my time til the Lord returns. That's where my hope is.

Great spin on the gas and food, Doug! Now can you spin a story for the stock funds? That's where I worry. It's pretty hard to know where to put money these days....seems nothing is really "safe" AND earns decent interest!

I'm with you, Jennifer. Come on back, Jesus!!

I have a lot of faith in the American people too. I think the country will find a way to deal with all of this. I think things may settle down next year once we have a new President....whoever it is. There are just a lot of uncertainties in our country right now. But Americans are tough and we can get through whatever comes our way!

Talking of weather, this was taken by my hubby yesterday on his way to work, The day before it was sunny and about 26C. Yesterday about zero!!

According to the economic gurus we use in our business forecasting, the economy in the US will pick up in the second half of 2009. Europe will then have a recession like ours is now, so maybe we can all go to Europe if the exchange rate shifts to our favor!! I'm glad my husband found a new job now as it is getting very hard to find something and we're about to lay off a bunch of folks in the next few months. Some are being told they will have to move to CA, TX, or CO or something and if they don't move, they have no job. Times are tough. But as was said earlier, Americans are tough folks and we'll weather the storm.

I just want enough discretionary funds to buy dirt, gravel, fencing for an acre and finish up our backyard!! It's not like I want to go clothes shopping or anything!!
