Beach (Carolyn), I know you are more than ready to have this surgery over with so you can have that wonderful vacation and keep movin' forward. You will be in my prayers for a good night's rest and a quick and pain free time of it. Please let us know how you are as soon as you can. We care about you!!!! ....Jamie
God be with you and surgeons tomorrow. May the procedure go well and may you recover and heal quickly. I'm praying for you! Soon as you get back from vacation we will get together! I'm looking forward to it!
I'm sure she is home and resting by now... hope she has air conditioning. It is 100 here with a heat index of 111. We have air conditioning, or I would have melted by now. Have to say the heat doesn't bother knees at all!
Beach, hope you are back soon. I am off to the trailer for the long weekend, though back Sunday as we are having our kids over for a Bar B Q on Monday to celebrate my Birthday on 18th. Hope to see you posting when I get back online. ((((((((HUGS)))))))))) Sue
Hooray, BEACH!!!! SO very thrilled that you are safely back home and all is well. Tired is to be expected and can be fixed, so I hope you get some good rest. Will be waiting to hear all the details when you are feeling up to posting again! ONE STEP CLOSER TO MEXICO!!!
Surgery went well---- I slept through it--- but found out why they give Versed before spinals.... they HURT! Next time I will have the Versed--- it will still hurt but I won't remember! LOL! My back hurt worse than my knee last night by far.
The meniscus tear was large and complex--- getting it out of there will hopefully help. Arthritis is not as bad in that knee as the other one yet so we are hoping all will be well for a while. I know this repair might make the OA worse, but it is a chance worth taking since it was unacceptably painful to walk much on it.
I believe in the power of prayer and know many of you are of great faith---
I am leaving home in a short time to travel with my son (he is driving--- I am elevating and icing in the back seat) 80 miles to say good-bye to my son's paternal grandmother, Charlotte. She is in the hospital dying of COPD and will likely not survive another 48 hours. She is a wonderful wonderful person and has been my best friend for over 30 years( although her son and I have been divorced many years). I knew her death was imminent, but chose go ahead with my surgery, thinking she had more time---but she has taken a turn for the worse in the last 24 hours.
Please pray for a peaceful death for her and for me to have the strength to do what must be done.
I am scheduled for a scope on my good knee the end of June. My OA is very localized and is not in need (yet) of the TKR I had on my left knee last January. I am hoping the scope will alleviate some of the walking pain I have. Feels like someone left a scalpel in there at times. The TENS machine is the biggest pain remedy I have found so far (other than pain meds). Fortunately the post surgical rehab from the scope is not in league with the TKR.
Carolyn, I am so sorry to hear about your son's grandmother, Charlotte. It is always difficult to say good-bye to those we love so. You all will be in my prayers. Bless your heart....what a lot to go through all at once. May our prayers lift you and help you through this difficult time.
dw, not to put words in her mouth, or her fingers, my O.S. kept taking cartilage out of my knee thru the previous 8 surgeries, he warned me that the more he kept taking out, the more bone on bone I had rubbing thus the irritation that led to the OA.
