I had a TKR , left, on 6/05/2020.
it still hurts with activity so I had a knee revisionist look at it. He said the original doc installed a “loose” knee that will only correct with ANOTHER TKR.
My original surgeon want to install a larger spacer. 6mm to 7,8 or 9mm?
The revisionist says that a larger spacer won’t work and will restrict range of motion.
Will a larger spacer work?

Not something I have personal experience of, but others here do and will be along. My 1st take would be (a) not to trust the guy that that messed (clean language only on here) up the first TKR and (b) to find another revisionist for another opinion. Sounds like overkill but this is important!

Thanks. Anyone here have experience with having a larger spacer installed to fix a loose knee replacement?
Did it fix the problem?
Did it restrict extension and flexion?

Here is a link to @Goknee thread about a spacer exchange. Several members responded who have had a spacer exchange. You may find their posts helpful.

I agree with Roy, about optaining a second opinion about your knee. Be sure it is from a surgeon who has no connection with your present surgeon, not even golf buddies.
