I figured I would start a new thread since we are on page 10+ on several other threads. We do have a tendency to completely and totally get off topic.
Skeet mentioned hunting for 4-6 hours this morning and it got me to thinking of where I'm at with this big fat monkey of a knee.
I'm at 8 weeks post op today.
Are you guys practicing walking?
This morning I did the cycling, seated leg press, leg extensions, leg curls.
Then I tried the treadmill for 30 mins. I put it on an incline which lessens the impact of the foot hitting the belt. I also only went at 2.5mph. It was a good workout.
When I got through I went for my mall walk.
A long explanation to get to the point. Are you guys limping??
I start out O.K. but towards the end, I feel like I'm walking like the hunchback of Notre Dame...
I think I need to really try to increase the walk.
Skeet, I've learned from a lifetime of athletics that if you want to get strong you have to use resistance training. If you need to run, you have to train to run. So it makes sense that if you want to walk and hunt, you need to push the walking. We need the bike to work the ROM and strengthen the leg some but we probably need to incorporate more walking. Big revelation right??
Now I feel better.---Gotta go cook.
