Any TKR peeps from Kentucky?

I am at the point where I really need to think about getting into an OS and getting TKR's done.
Is there anyone out there from Kentucky who has had TKR who would like to chat with me pertaining to a doctor, maybe in the Central Kentucky area? I have a couple of docs in mind but would like some input if possible.

Hi, Kymamaw.....I think we have had members from Kentucky, but I'm not sure whether any are active now. Hopefully, someone will reply to your thread.

In the meantime, check out the (broken link removed: https://bonesmart.org/clinic_lookup.phpto locate a surgeon in your area. You just type in your zipcode and you should get a number of surgeons to consider. I would pick 3-4 who do a LOT of knee replacements - like 500 a year. The surgeon's skill is the MOST important factor.

Once you have a couple that sound promising, make an appointment and discuss your situation with each one. Usually there will be one that stands out to you as best to deal with your particular needs for the surgery. This interview process has worked very well for many of our members. Not in Kentucky, just a southern neighbor in Tennessee. Just want to say good luck, ask lots of questions, listen to your instincts. It's amazing how many people I've talked to who have had my OS do some kind of surgery for them... never knew it before - ask people you know - word of mouth can lead you in the right way (and away from where you should not go!).
