Hi! I just joined. I’m 39 and will have both hips replaced this year. I have severe osteoarthritis. Born with hips dislocated.

:hi: that OA can make one extremely miserable and old before our time, right?
Are you having them done at once?
I am a few weeks out from my one year anniversary from BTHR and I am still amazed and grateful that this surgery has given me my life back...and I can SLEEP all night
Bonesmart was a large part of my recovery toolbox as there was much advice and encouragement from the forum from those who have been through it.
Glad you are getting this done.:tada:

Hi @NMRJS - I'm also in WA. Where are you located/having your surgery done? I'm in the Issaquah area and had my RTHR done by Dr. Bruckner at Overlake. Highly recommend him.

@NMRJS I saw Dr. Crutcher at Swedish and liked him. He was my second choice.

I've completed my pre-op visit with my PCP. Got my nose swab and blood tests. I have low hematocrit (34) so I'm on iron and vitamin c supplements now. But, everything else looks good and I'm very excited to get my new hip. The pain seems to be getting worse the closer I get! I've been texting friends and letting them know. I figure I'll make a Facebook announcement closer to surgery date. The surgeon's nurse emailed and told me to check in at the hospital at 5:30am. I guess that means I'll be the first operation of the day? How are the other May Marvels doing? I'm counting the days. I wish it were right now!

Nice - you'll get 'em while they're still fresh!

Stay in touch, especially after they operate - mine's coming up on 5/29, and I'm getting obsessive about other May Marvels and their stories.
