Hi everyone! I'm home, post-op day 3, and still haven't read through all the messages, and this post will be short cuz I'm sleepy.
Anyway--because my knees seem to name themselves, this one is now called "Dave." No idea why, but that's the name that kept popping into my head. Stella is happy to have a companion that works.
Boy, talk about night and day differences between the surgeries! Pain protocols DO make a difference, and I'm careful to take pills every three hours even if I think I'm feeling "OK."
Other big difference is this surgeon had a drain in the knee for two days. My swelling has been minimal and stiffness seems to be better than before, along with ROM--I can already do 90 degrees pretty easily and was able to get into the front seat of the car!
Anyway, more details will come out over time, but my sleepiness is quickly overtaking me.
Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes...I'm sure that's another reason why this surgery and recovery so far has been such a contrast to the first TKR. I didn't find this group until I was about 4 or 5 weeks out last time and this time one of my first thoughts after getting home was letting you all know I was fine (but napping interfered with that one too!).
Hugs to all!
