Got thru surgery ok 5/5. They resurfaced the patella, added a button on it and swapped out the bearing for a larger one to help stabilize the ligaments. He said the patella was pretty bad and there was alot of bone exposed. It has felt really strong and better than my original replacement initially. Maybe a week ago I did sort of twist my knee a little while repositioning in bed. That hurt quite a bit. I rested and it seemed better. Then I started PT a week ago though and since then I'd say I feel worse. I'm considering stopping PT until I feel I'm back to where I was. Something with the heel slides and whatever I did when I twisted it began to set it off. Then in PT he had me doing some short arch quad sets, then some long arch quad sets and that really made it mad. Now when I sit awhile it is soooo stiff and hurts on the inside under the kneecap. I need a crutch unitl I'm moving awhile. Grrrrrr so frustrating! I do have an ice machine and I'm doing ice and elevation I'd say at least 4 hrs a day. Do you think I should just rest it a few days until it is okay again. I have great extension. It hurts to flex it. The swelling is not too bad. I get the bandage off tomorrow.
